I saw Dr. Mak for neck, arm and knee pain. He was extremely knowledgeable and offered treatment that worked!! I felt significantly less pain in both regions after the treatments. I highly recommend!!
I had hip pain for years, and my X-ray showed I was bone-on-bone. My doctor said a hip replacement was my only option, so I almost canceled my first appointment with Dr. Maks — but he encouraged me to come anyway. It didn’t feel like a sales pitch, he genuinely believed he could help. I’m so glad I did! After just one session, the pain in my groin and lower back was gone. Dr. Maks is professional, caring, and truly focused on helping his patients. His knowledge is reassuring, and thanks to his work, I’m back to playing more tennis and walking daily with minimal pain. I’m so grateful to Dr. Maks for helping me stay active and avoid surgery. Thanks you!!!!!
Dr. Maks is nothing short of a miracle worker. I came in for a herniated disc and sciatic nerve issues and after the first session I felt immediate relief. What I really appreciate about Dr. Maks is the undivided attention he provides to his clients. For the entire hour session, he dedicates his full attention to you making sure your care is centered. He also provides stretches and helpful tips to practice at home when you are away from him. I highly recommend!
I am an avid ultra runner. I also do CrossFit 5 days a week and recreationally mountain bike and open water swim. I have been going to Dr. Maks regularly for a full year now and it has kept me performing at a high level! Within just days of my first visit, the intense lower back pain I had been feeling that kept me stagnant in my runs and only able to bike for about 20 minutes when I was previously biking over 2 hours, was gone! I continued to come in for dry needling, scraping and cupping to tune up my hamstrings, back, neck, and feet. I completed two 50K trail races this year and I know it was thanks to Dr. Maks for keeping me healthy!
Dr Maks is great. Worth every penny. He really understands the system and how inter-related everything is. I Had a lingering hamstring issue and he was able to diagnose the issue was tightness in my calf, which he dry needled and felt much better. Similar situation with frequent headaches caused by my neck and jaw. He is a pleasure to work with. His monthly appointments keeps me disciplined about daily stretches and workouts. I highly recommend working with him.
Dr Maks is great! His dry needling work fixed everything! I didn’t realize some of these nagging shoulder, back and knee pains can be fixed so easily. He is great to work with and funny. Explains bodily concepts in ways and analogies you can understand. And he has a good eye for diagnosis - can easily figure out why you are in pain. For treatment, He has a natural way of approaching things meaning he wants your body to move in the way it was naturally meant to do. So all the stretches, exercises and treatments are tailored to bringing the natural range of motion back.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Dr. Maks. I came in with lingering shoulder pain that nothing else seemed to help, and he used techniques I’d never tried before — like dry needling and cupping — that completely eliminated my pain. Beyond his skill and knowledge, he’s just a genuinely kind and caring person. He made me feel heard, comfortable, and supported throughout the entire process, explaining each step so I always knew what to expect. I left each session feeling better not only physically, but mentally too. I’m so grateful for the care I received and would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.
Hi Maks, good morning. For weeks already I am promising myself to write you but up to now I haven't. Years on end I have been struggling with pain in my knees from arthritis. I even had stemcell transplants, but nothing helped me better than your massages, dry needling and other treatment. Every week since our return to Aruba, we are talking about you and your skills and how they have helped me getting better. I cannot thank you enough for the treatments you gave me that helped me be more flexible and made me walk without pain in my knees again. I feel like reborn. I am back to playing tennis, fitness, zumba, hiking and riding my bike without any pain and haven't felt like this way for years. Know that we think and talk about you a lot, all in a positive way and hope that, whenever we are in Baltimore, and we are in need of a physiotherapist, we can knock on your door again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting me back on track and be my old self again. You really know your stuff. Warm regards from Meeca Krohn, Aruba. 🏃♀️💃🤸♀️
I suffered a major stroke on December 17th 2021 full right side paralyzed unable to move in hospital 3 months both in house and outpatient therapy at Johns Hopkins for 4 months. Dr. Maks is doing amazing work getting my core stability and strength along with my gait working prestroke. Huge improvements could not be more satisfied.
Maks is the ultimate health professional. He takes the time at the start of every session to listen to you, collaboratively understand where your issues are even if you are bad at explaining it beyond "it hurts", and he adjusts the game plan for how to make you better accordingly. We've done combinations of dry needling, massage, stretching, core exercises, etc. On top of that, he's got a great personality! He's provided tons of patient education for me which has helped me tie what we are doing in the sessions to every day life outside and I've made significant progress in a short amount of time by putting in the extra work outside of our sessions with his guidance. I still have a ways to go, but it makes it easier getting through the more challenging days knowing the path I'm on to fix my posture/ alignment issues. I can't recommend Maks highly enough!
