I was examined by Dr. Eyler as a requirement for Social Security. Needless to say she is compensated to be biased for them. Dr. Eyler spent only 30 minutes with me and gave me a MMSE test, and used this “mini” test and her very brief time with me, to undiagnose me of my already diagnosed from another doctor, ADHD. I don’t know how long Dr. Eyler has been in practice, but I’m sure she is aware that, not only was that not enough time spent with a patient to diagnose/un-diagnose ADHD, but also, no single test, especially a “mini” test at that, can confirm or deny ADHD. Not to mention, a test that is mostly given to check for dementia. The MMSE is not a reliable test for ADHD, especially not if relying on that single test alone. The doctor who diagnosed me spent many sessions with me, multiple tests, AND involved questionnaires given to my mother as well. This is how you diagnose ADHD. Furthermore, I didn’t even include my ADHD in my SSI determination, so I’m not sure why they sent me to be evaluated for it. I made a passing comment about it in my review of my day to day, but I did not include it in my reasoning for requesting continued disability. My diagnosed MS is what I included in my determination. But I digress, my point is that Dr. Eyler should know better. But, at least you’re getting paid, right doctor?
