Although I couldn't really do much entertainment-wise or get any fresh air because of the reconstruction of the balcony, I really enjoyed my time there. The staff were very nice (there were some rude ones, but I digress), and they did their best to help us out as patients. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the difficulty I had with my dietary restrictions. I'm Jewish - I eat Kosher. This means no pork, no shellfish, and I can't eat it if meat and dairy are on top of / touching each other (example: Cheeseburgers are a no-go, but a Hamburger and some Mac n Cheese are okay). They kept getting confused with it and wouldn't give me any dairy if my food had meat on the plate, which git frustrating to keeo explaining to the kitchen since I couldn't directly say that, so all I got for breakfast yesterday morning was three cups of fruit. I like fruit, but I was excited for what I had really ordered. Some education on cultural dietary needs would be very helpful as I'm definitely not the only Jewish person who's been or going to be in that ward. 7/10.

They starve you and no sunshine or fresh air the whole time. The staff don't listen besides if you get lucky with a nice nurse or psychiatrist. The staff were extremely RUDE. I had to beg for food sometimes because I do not eat pork as a Muslim. And I needed vegetables, which was almost impossible to get. Clean underwear was hard to get. It was almost impossible to call anyone. I felt so alone there. Never got to talk to a therapist. I had to beg a nurse to listen to me cause I would cry everyday from depression. It was freezing in there and there was no way to exercise. The only good thing is they do help you with medications but you are going thru hell while you're trying to stabilize your brain.

If you’re a type 1 diabetic currently taking shots please do not go to 6 east psych ward. The doctor up there will mess your blood sugar up on purpose and will take your food away from you. And even elderly people are left suffering with either a uti or bed sore on them because the nurses up there don’t even listen to them.

The woman who works at the front desk was very rude. She hung up on me in the middle of our conversation regarding an appointment, simply because I was not satisfied with a doctor who was neglecting my mental health needs. Dr. Peters has ignored me for the past few months, and I am not sure why. This entire office is unprofessional. It is concerning for a psychiatry facility to act this way considering how essential mental health is to a person's well-being. I would not recommend anyone bring their children here.

I was placed there on a MIW. This was my first at Nortons. The staff goes out of their way to treat people.they were very caring and supported. Be to others in the Louisville area and they don't began to compare with Nortons.I gave them 5 stars .
