I absolutely love Mrs.Woods. I have been seeing her for years now. In the beginning, we had to try alot of meditation and finally found what is best for me. She always listens very very thoroughly. I have never had a doctor that I truly trust before her. Very professional. Now at the moment, I don't have insurance at the moment, BUT I have and will pay out of pocket just to see her.

I am always so grateful to have Dr. Wood and the entire team at UofL Psychiatry in my life. Every appointment, I leave feeling genuinely heard, supported, and guided through the complexities of recovery and all the ways it touches my life. They are thoughtful, deeply knowledgeable, kind, considerate, compassionate, and consistently reliable. Their care feels both professional and deeply human, which has made an immeasurable difference for me. I truly don’t know where I would be without them, and I am endlessly grateful to have their presence and support within my life and my community.

I’ve seen so many psychiatrists over the years. It the 20 years of my journey, I’ve been through a lot. It seems like finding a good psych dr is harder than in any other field of medicine. Decades of being dismissed by male doctors, a few female doctors, both young and old, it’s exhausting. I’ve been put on such high doses of so many meds, risky attempts at treatment, and my side effects and personal reporting were ignored. Treatment resistant does not have to mean untreatable. Dr. Wood has changed the game for me. She is approachable, kind, thoughtful, like a psychotherapist but thorough, knowledgeable, and meticulous as a Dr should be. She listens to me without judgement or dismissal. Even if she and I don’t agree on what the next step should be, she always hears me out and discusses it with me. She’s always right but never acts like it. She is ALWAYS staying on the cutting edge of research and studies, which you’d expect from anyone at a learning hospital but is not always the case. She also legitimately considers findings from my case interesting and discusses my case with me, which I prefer, from a clinical standpoint as she may with another physician. I feel totally respected, supported, and heard by her. Unprecedented in my experience of this field. I’m so glad I found her. I can’t praise her enough.
