Dr. Ashley M Markovic has a chair, diploma, computer and control over records. She is unkind and unethical. Did not provided nor explain basic info; intake process, therapy approach, not even the length of sessions. Wasted time for intake info that could have been provided via email, no info and guidance to “what and how”. Confused during 2nd session she asked if my partner and I did our homework, no h/w assigned, for a fact is unhealthy to assign h/w prior to assessment and establishing trust. 2nd session and forward on she ignored my concerns about my partner not receiving proper treatment for PTSD TBI as well clearly expressed needs. Criticizing, judging my parent and me, name calling as “bad partner”, “long winded”, for the record she did not expressed that she doesn’t accept “long winded” patients, ultimately she found that a reason for the therapy being unsuccessful. Preoccupied with her youthful appearance. When asked for longer sessions, not only she said that 45 min is ample for couples that is contrary to facts, but she argued and denied our previous experience of 90 min sessions. Only 7th session she question my partner about his PTSD TBI treatment and meds. Again 8th session I addressed my concerns about my partner unable to successfully participate due to lack of proper PTSD TBI treatment, her criticisms, inability and or lack of willingness to hear and consider our history, clearly expressed needs, she did not appreciate that. Dr. Markovic never acknowledged my partner and mine, our family service to our country, she never expressed graduate for service members in general, arrogant and ignorant. Her unprofessional, unethical conduct was very detrimental and harmful. Individuals as such are undeserving to be making a living of our veterans.

dr filmore wanted to be virtual but for some reason was accepting in person clients. he asked me during our first meeting if i’d be willing to meet virtually, i said no. the second week, he texted me the night before asking if we could meet virtually instead, i said no, so we canceled and planned on week 3. this is week 3, he texted me last night asking if i was certain i wanted to meet in person bc all of his other clients are virtual and he didn’t want to drive to the city for nothing. i said for a third time i have no interest in being virtual. he said that’s fine, see you in person tomorrow. it’s 1 hour before our appointment and he canceled. so unprofessional and so wildly disrespectful to a mental health client.

The employees at Thriving Center of Psychology that I’ve interacted with have been professional and great communicators. Their current office manager has been helpful and quick at responding to any questions I’ve had and my spouse and I’s therapist has been kind, empathetic, and caring— all great qualities a therapist should embody! We have enjoyed our experience interacting with this place of work so far and we look forward to seeing our therapist again.
