Awesome guy and a wonderful intelligent professional to talk to, especially if you are dealing with anxiety issues. I look forward to our conversations and Dan's down to Earth relaxed insight.
Dan is a fantastic therapist - kind but tough, smart, thoughtful, compassionate, trustworthy and open — his sessions continue to be invaluable to my growth and processing of life issues. highly recommend.
Dan is an exceptional, caring and professional therapist. He taught me many tools especially DBT skills to manage complex life challenges. I highly recommend Dan Kobosky for Counseling.
Dan Kobosky is an extraordinarily talented psychotherapist. He is skilled in the diagnostic process, and this is extremely important as diagnosis drives & directs treatment. Symptoms can be elusive or representative of a variety of problems, and Dan is skilled at discerning the quintessential features of a condition. This is especially important if several issues are in play (dual diagnosis) or issues involving a couple or a family. His style is competent & assurred, yet calming and empathic. Dan listens; really listens, then systematically identifies suspected conflicts and issues, and works to establish a path, and goals to achieve. His skills in Dialectical Begavioral Therapy is unmatched. He was trained by the person who “wrote the book”. His expertise in substance abuse issues, either as the primary or perhaps a secondary issue is the most developed of any therapist in Chicago. That, and his ability to work with highly educated professional people with considerable therapeutic deft is an asset. I have been a patient of Dan Kobosky, and anticipate returning to his care when it seems appropriate. I recommend him very strongly.
I was at a very difficult and dark place in my life when I came into contact with Dan at Next Level Counseling. After he introduced me to DBT my life began to change immediately. He was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He helped to better my life and taught me invaluable skills that I use everyday.Even though I live out of state Dan continues to help and support me.I owe him more than I can ever repay!!
Dan is a fantastic therapist! My fiance and I see him for couples counseling. He is great to work with and I'd recommend him to anyone. He truly cares about his patients.
Dan Kobosky is well-trained in both DBT group therapy and 1:1 psychotherapy and has years of hands on experience working directly with patients. He is fully invested in his patients and not only works as their therapist but as a personal advocate. He has gone above and beyond and out of his way to help me in this regard outside of my therapy sessions. As a therapist he is empathetic yet firm; a wonderful listener and adviser who helps you to realize your own misconceptions and maladaptive thinking and challenges you to address them. I only stopped working with him because I moved out of state and if I move back to Chicago I would work with him again. I highly recommend him as a therapist as I have really benefited from his treatment.
Dan Kobosky is the type of therapist who is approachable but challenging. He will ask inquisitive questions and make statements that really force you to take a step back and look at your actions more globally. I've worked with Dan from 2015-2016 in both his DBT group and for 1:1 psychotherapy, and the insight I've gained has changed the trajectory of my life. He's intelligent and hands down the best therapist I've worked with. I would highly recommend him to anyone without any reservations.
