This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with therapy and therapist. This company is very unprofessional and lacks professionalism and procedure. I would not trust anyone from this staff. I had Alanna Flaud as my therapist regarding my mental health as a veteran/service member. She was unempathetic and not warm or welcoming hence I stopped going and found better and cheaper services elsewhere. I then wanted to prove my mental health journey to my employer and requested documentation of which I was unsuccessful in getting the first 2-hour phone call, the phone called ended with they would email over my requested documents which I never received. I then called back and Donna the receptionist was extremely rude and hung-up on me when all I was requesting was the documents promised to me 2 weeks prior that I never received. Before Donna hung-up on me mid-sentence, I had spoken with Jessica who was notably agitated with my request and transferred me to Donna. I have since this conversation reported this company to the better business bureau to alert people who are in need of therapy and on the brink of crisis to NEVER seek care or services here. I am willing to fight this thing to end as it is extremely upsetting and unsettling that an organization is allowed to be ran in such an unorganized manner. PLEASE DO NOT use their services you will be greatly disappointed. If I could rate it negative stars I would. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Shannon Carr is in a class all by herself. Bar none. If you're serious about personal development and growth, she's a solid resource. She's as sharp as they come and I'm convinced that she has a special gift to work with me; I'm not sure that I can be convinced otherwise at this point. I look forward to our sessions and it would've been amazing if I would've found her years ago. Shannon is a gift and uses her gifts. She's amazing and I highly recommend working with her. Sideline Note: Go book her... now. You'll thank yourself later.

I strongly advise against seeking services from JL Family Services. My experience with this organization has been nothing short of appalling. They advertise “affordable therapy,” but this is a complete lie. After initially charging me $30 per session—which I paid—they later back-charged me unjustly with additional fees and provided no clear explanation or transparency. They prey on clients financially, showing no regard for fairness or honesty. To make matters worse, their communication is cold and impersonal. They have a callous individual hiding behind a generic company email address, refusing to even sign their name. This lack of accountability and respect is deeply unprofessional and reflects how little they care about their clients’ well-being. Despite knowing I had lost my job, they showed no empathy and continued to harass me with threatening emails, warnings of legal action, and claims of late fees. This behavior is not what you would expect from a mental health facility claiming to support vulnerable individuals. JL Family Services does not care about mental health, honesty, or integrity—they care only about money. If you are looking for ethical, compassionate care, look elsewhere.

I started seeing Ashley in March 2020 in the early days of quarantine. In the years since, she has proven to be consistently thoughtful, attentive, and observant to my needs, areas for growth, and desires for therapy. When looking for a therapist, it was very important to me that I find a Black woman that could understand the specific experiences I have in the world. Ashley is not only well versed with dealing with the unfortunate “big picture” traumas that come with certain intersections but more than comforting and affirming in unpacking them. Possibly the best “pandemic relationship” I could’ve found, I cannot recommend Ashley enough!

I have seen Diana for a while now and she is fantastic. She is a great listener and knows how to get to the root of any issue. She is nonjudgmental and when you talk with her you can be completely honest and really does make you feel like it is a safe space to tackle anything. She has been a fundamental piece in me reshaping my life. Self awareness, management of my emotions and impulses, acceptance, coping skills and the list goes on and on about things I have learned (I’m sure I can be a therapist at this point). Diana is honest and direct and has a way with getting me all the way together. Highly recommend.

I've been going to Ashley for about two years now, and she has been such an amazing therapist for me! She is so kind, flexible, and attentive! I leave literally every session feeling so affirmed, and I've learned so many skills for bettering myself and my life. My life is completely different compared to what it was like when I first started going, and I credit that to my time spent working with Ashley.

This place is amazing and Ashely saved my life. A short background story. I moved to the Chicago area in January of 2020. I’m active duty and had just left sunny California where I had lived for the past four years. I was in a very bad state and was seeking help outside of the military. The insurance company was making me jump through hoops because I didn’t want to be seen at a military medical facility. Ashley courage given up, but she didn’t. She helped through the process and always followed up. She is hands down the best therapist I have ever had. She’s genuine, and really cares about her patients! I can’t say that I would be here still if it wasn’t for her.

Ashley Pittman has been my therapist for about nine months, and I can honestly say she's been the best therapist I ever had. In my household, therapy was a weekly routine, so when I started meeting with Ashley I wasn't new to being in therapy. However, this was the first time in my adult life that I took it upon myself to get back into therapy. I got lucky finding Ashley. She's thoughtful, she communicates with me throughout the sessions, she highlights my "improvements," reminds me to give myself grace, and also points out triggers that we might have to talk about in another session. I'm thankful that I found JI Family Services Ltd -- but above all, I'm thankful that I found Ashley. "She's the best there is, plain and simple."

Ashley is an amazing therapist. She allows me to be honest without judgment. She also listens to me and let me get all my feelings out. I feel completely comfortable letting her in on the details in my life. Also, she always make sure we come up with solutions or ways to move forward when I present her with the issues in my life. I’m so glad we are able to do virtual therapy because I do not live in town but still meet with Ashley every week.

The idea of going to therapy made me nervous. It takes a while for me to get comfortable enough to express myself to someone, especially a stranger. However, Ashley has done a tremendous job at making me feel comfortable enough to express myself. Together we were able to work through some personal/ mental health issues I was dealing with. Our sessions has relieved alot of my anxiety and allowed me to function better.
