I started physical therapy for a slipped jaw disc at Hobson in February. My first meeting with Renuka was most informative and gave me a very good feeling of the treatment ahead. Her expertise, PT work & prescribed jaw exercises have been instrumental in improving my condition. Sarah & Ariel, part of Renuka’s team were also very helpful and a pleasure to work with. I definitely recommend the work of the Hobson Institute.
I was recommended here by my current physician who said they frequently refer patients. I have left four or five messages over the past several months, including twice in the past two weeks. I have never reached a person or received a return phone call. Between that and the parts of their website that include edits about what needs to be changed in the final copy, I have no confidence in that referral. I hope others have better luck.
They changed my life. Before visiting Hobson Institute I had right shoulder pain and my jaws were very tight. I took electricity and dry needling treatments on my neck, which I would never do anywhere else other than Hobson Institute as she has a lot of experience and her treatments are pain and discomfort free. The bottom line is if you follow their directions you will feel great. I’m now working on not grinding my teeth at night - they have a solution for that too!
I was sent here by my dentist to see if I can change my teeth grinding habit. I ended up learning a whole new approach to dealing with facial muscles and neck tightness that I never thought I'd be free from. I'm in such a better place thanks to the amazing work The Hobson Institute introduced me to.
I was experiencing jaw pain and lockjaw for a while and thought it would go away with time. When it didn’t, I decided to visit Dr. Hobson for a check up and she was able to provide so many helpful tips&tools to get me on the path to recovery! She explained thoroughly and provided various exercises for me to use at home in the areas that I needed to work on. I was able to feel a lot better after just 2 visits. Would definitely recommend coming in for any TMJ/lockjaw help!
My dentist recommended I try myofunctional therapy to help with my snoring and breathing. I was skeptical about whether it would work, but decided to give it a good honest try. I worked with Abby and George for several months. They were both a pleasure to work with. After snoring for 15+ years, I finally sleep quietly.
I had been having problems with my bite and TMJ for a year and was skeptical about getting involved with PT, even though it was recommended by my dentist after he could not relieve my pain. I was scheduled with a speech pathologist which additionally confused me. My first visit with Abby changed everything. She not only answered all my questions and concerns but something during her initial assessment and hands on evaluation relieved a great deal of my pain. I had miraculous improvement over the next few days and was so excited for my next visit. The road to recovery was somewhat of a rollercoaster and took much longer than I had hoped for, but I got there! There was additional help from the physical therapist and assistant, Selene in particular. She was great providing explanations, education, reinforcement, and hands on therapy. She has great hands! It was a friendly, not rushed environment where every visit demonstrated expertise and made a difference. Overall, Hobson Institute was able to provide me with relief of my symptoms and realistic tools for continued success. I would highly recommend giving them a try. You may feel silly doing some of the exercises but just do them. They work!
I am so grateful to Dr. Jenny and her Breathing Clinic. I learned so much from her and I feel incredibly better. It took me a little while to implement everything she taught me because it is a lot to change, but little by little I started sleeping so much better, getting in some good, quality deep and REM sleep, and my breathing rate has slowed significantly. My allergy symptoms are almost nonexistent. I have more energy during the day, my focus is back, my stomach symptoms have improved tremendously, and my life is not longer centered around my symptoms, doctors appointments, and google searches. As a physical therapist also, I look forward to starting my own tmj/sleep/breathing clinic in order to help others as much as she has helped me. Thanks Dr. Jenny, I am forever grateful for your help in getting my health and life back! Allison Moore, PT, DPT
After undergoing a major jaw surgery, I was referred to Dr. Hobson to assist with the rehabilitation of my facial muscles and the strengthening of my jaw. She far exceeded my expectations and was tremendously helpful to me in recovery, allowing me to get back to normal facial and jaw function much quicker than expected. In addition, I sought treatment from Dr. Hobson for issues with my breathing and tongue posture, both of which I was able to dramatically improve over the course of Dr. Hobson's breathing clinic. These breathing and postural issues were not well known to me prior to working with Dr. Hobson, but the benefits that I have received from her corrective treatment have truly been life changing. Beyond her great knowledge and experience, it was evident throughout my treatment that Dr. Hobson truly cares about her patients and improving their lives. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Hobson to anyone experiencing issues with their head, neck, or breathing health.
Dr. Hobson and her team are well educated in a variety of topics pertaining to breathing and overall myofunctional health and wellness. As an aligned health professional who suffers from improper breathing techniques, I found the Breathing Clinic that I attended to be a fascinating and helpful review of how I can improve my own personal health and how my patients can benefit from going to meet with Dr. Hobson too. I highly encourage anyone who might be suffering the symptoms of poor breathing form (frequent yawns, sighs, fatigue) to go and see if they can learn to breathe better.
