A 2.8 rating seems generous. I wish I had read these reviews before booking my appointment. My provider, ms. monks was wonderful, and the visit was excellent but the administrative team was shockingly unprofessional. They sent a controlled substance to the wrong address and then refused to take accountability. I am bedbound most days, so travel is challenging, yet they handled the situation with passive-aggressive behavior and ultimately dropped me as a patient; then somehow placed the blame on me for my “communication style" To be clear, my appointment went perfectly; the issue was entirely with the administrative team. A little accountability and professionalism would go a long way.
I stopped seeing my provider because I very much felt like a number adding to their client list, rather than an actual human being. I had scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ndidi Onyejiaka, but never met her. Instead I saw Ms. Monks. The first session was in person and she had her dogs in her office. I love dogs, but she never checked if I was allergic or to see if it was okay with me (many people are scared of dogs). No one answers the phone and to contact your provider you MUST go through either the general Dura phone number or email. I could never simply send my provider even an email. I missed an appointment and Dura sent me an email with my charge ($100), but my provider never reached out to me to reschedule an appointment or see if I was okay after not going for 2 months. This has happened 3 times. I have decided not to go back and haven't seen my provider for 3 months, and Dura just keeps sending me emails about charges, but Ms. Monks has never tried to reach out to reschedule or see if I am okay. They insisted on sending me paper scripts for some of my ADHD medication and would not budge when I told them that it is very difficult for me to visit the pharmacy so often with my personal circumstances. I did not feel cared about at this practice. Do NOT waste your time here. Incredibly disappointing experience.
Dr. O literally ghosted me. I reached out to them through email and phone multiple times, and no one responded. She just stopped showing up to sessions. I’d HIGHLY not recommend using her, as I saw her for a while and not only did she not help, she made things worse. She also spends about 70% of the sessions talking herself instead of actually listening. A waste of money
1/11/24 No one ever answers the phone. I tried to reschedule an appointment with them via email. They stopped responding and then charged me a $100 no show fee for the appointment I was trying to reschedule. They continued to book future appointments without my consent, without reminders, and without appointment confirmations. I have now been charged $200 in no show fees and it’s my fault. They seem to not care about their patients, only about the money. *UPDATE* 2/14/24 I have now been charged $400 total and trying to get ahold of someone to discuss it has been near impossible. There is no receptionist and there is only one phone that sits at the front desk (which is empty) for all providers to be reached at. This has been extremely stressful.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend. The team is very pleasant, but unacceptably disorganized. Our child missed two refills because they insisted on sending prescriptions by mail and then forgot to mail the them. They literally never picked up the phone, and voicemails/emails routinely went unanswered. They ought to trade the luxury real estate for a good office manager.
I absolutely loved the two providers that I saw there, however they need more efficient, more professional front office staff operations. I chose to go elsewhere because it shouldn't take 10 business days for paperwork to be returned when it ONLY needs a signature.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Onyejiaka for 6 years and she has done a great job making me feel seen. During our time working together, I am a happier and more healed version of myself.
Avoid this place at all cost! By far the most unprofessional staff and “doctors” I’ve ever encountered. Negligence is an understatement, they sent my medication refills via USPS which got lost, I attempted to make them aware of the situation so I could get my medication refill another way and literally was IGNORED by all staff members Dr. O , Ms. Monks , and Ms. Hudson who was also my therapist at the time. I was a patient here for about 2 years, and was totally taken off guard by the situation, was also without my necessary medications for an entire week because of these people. The secretary isn’t on the same page as anybody in the practice including Dr. O and doesn’t read emails correctly or reply in a timely manner. I switched to another provider immediately after the medication fiasco and don’t even need to have medication paper scripts every month in order to get my medication refilled which is what Dura requires and was the whole reason for the fiasco in the first place! 🤦🏾♂️ Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
This clinic is highly praised, but I have had nothing but a terrible experience trying to become a new patient here. The person who I spoke to initially scheduled two appointments for me. One with her as an "intake appointment" and one with Dr. Onyejiaka weeks later. The day of my intake appointment she calls to advise me that she has sent documents for me to fill out via Onpatient. I found no documents and figured it was fine. When it came time for my appointment I was informed that I could not be seen because the necessary documents were not filled out. I was met with more confusion as she couldn't even give me instructions on how to fill this out and kept talking over me as I was explaining to her what I was seeing on my end.
I absolutely love everyone at this office. Dr o is just wonderful, caring, interesting and unlike many people in her field she doesnt just proscribe meds. She just loves listening to everyone and trying help everyone. Her office is high up on michigan av but very inviting and casual. If youre looking for a really people oriented psychiatrist who is very casual and is very fun loving, humble, a great listener and just loves people in general this is a great place to be.
