Dr. Jaffe has had a tremendous impact on my life. When I first scheduled an appointment with him, I was in a very dark place. Through careful and sincere analysis, he was able to help me identify what was causing my anguish, helped me become sophisticated in how to deal with it appropriately and ultimately overcome it. I have worked with Dr. Jaffe now for two years and cannot express how happy I am with his services.

I am disappointed in writing this, as I initially felt that Dr Jaffe had noble intentions as a couple’s therapist. My partner and I had issues in need of professional resolve - clearly. Upon reading reviews I was optimistic that his expertise was exactly what we needed. What we discovered, quickly, could be perceived as a hidden agenda - if you will. At $250 per session (he does not bill insurance, use a sliding fee scale, or provide a statement you can submit to insurance) I would expect more straightforward, honest communication. Instead, he gave my partner a referral to a lawyer he knew (who has despicable AVVO ratings) - without my knowledge - and never suggested anything during our sessions as a group. Unethical merit. When a couple or an individual present with distressing issues, said issues should be dealt with compassion and integrity. If you intend to refer a lawyer - regardless of who/why - the other party should be informed. In reading an older review - regarding a custody evaluation - I suspect our situation was being deliberately driven in that direction. Custody evaluations make sense when a couple decides to divorce, have children and extensive assets. The process is expensive, traumatic and unnecessary when individuals express a genuine desire to learn and grow. We sought advice for a delicate situation and were exploited and betrayed. Caution with him if you need couple’s counseling. I can’t speak to individual needs; perhaps that’s where the his strengths truly are. As far as couple’s counseling - there are therapists who are much more genuine/honest/empathetic and will help guide a couple through troublesome times. Creating trust issues and communication breakdowns during a pandemic isn’t ideal or acceptable. Shameful.

I always have Dr. Jaffe's full attention. It is always obvious to me that he takes what I am saying and thinks carefully before making an intervention which is just about always right on target. I have grown under his care . Is capacity for empathy is outstanding!

I would give zero stars if I could. This crook is a non-medical doctor thinks he’s a doctor. After three evaluations less than an hour each, $45,000 plus and him completely asking inappropriate/non relevant questions this guy took a year to write a review. He is ambulance chaser of the psych world. If you are assigned him… Get your evaluator changed ASAP

Sometimes, it takes another person to help us appreciate what we have, and to show us that nothing is impossible if we believe in ourselves. For me, that other person is you Jaffe Alan M PsyD – and I just want to say, thank you.

Regardless of how effective or ineffective this man is as a therapist, it is clear he either writes fake reviews himself or encourages others to do so on his behalf.
