I saw Dr. Hoye at Chicago Psych Services for about a year after specifically searching for someone trained in Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT). At the time, he was the only clinician I could find in Chicago practicing MBT who accepted any kind of insurance, which made the treatment actually accessible. The work focused on understanding the thoughts and feelings behind behavior—both my own and other people’s. Over time, this helped me develop a much more coherent sense of self. I can now hold complicated or even contradictory emotions without feeling overwhelmed or confused by my reactions. Instead of reacting automatically, I’m able to slow down, consider context, and approach situations with more curiosity and stability. One of the biggest changes has been in my relationships. I feel more confident navigating difficult conversations and better able to understand other people’s perspectives. My reactions feel understandable to me now rather than foreign or disconnected. We also did attachment-focused work that helped me internalize a stronger sense of security and self-compassion. I’m better able to self-soothe, reflect on my past without becoming overwhelmed, and hold complex feelings at the same time. Overall, this is the most consistent and grounded sense of self I’ve ever had, and it has made a meaningful difference in how I navigate relationships and stressful situations. If you’re looking for help, Chicago Psych Services—and Dr. Hoye in particular—are worth contacting.

Annoying and unprofessional. Unqualified. Therapy mill.

Poorly managed. No reception team to speak with. The reception area is just a small room with a couple of chairs, no windows. I was incorrectly billed. They claimed my insurance provider was out of network even after they confirmed I was in net work and was reassured multiple times my sessions would be 100% free. I was billed $800 for only 3 sessions. Accounting is difficult to get a hold of to resolve these issues and the only person of communication is the therapist which is telling me information that accounting or the owner of the practice tells her. Mind you, accounting never got a hold of me for any of this. It was my therapist who told me that sessions are on pause until I pay the amount in full. But she didn't even know the amount charged. Even after all of this and them claiming my issue is resolved I still have a pending balance of over $200. One of the least professional therapy places I've been to. Save your self the head ache and avoid coming here.

Dr. Hoye is a dedicated, kind, compassionate and knowledgeable Psychologist. I sought him out during a difficult time in my life when I felt my world was falling apart. I suffered from childhood traumas which had resurfaced. Dr. Hoye listened to me and made me feel cared for. He was always up on all the latest information/research pertaining to my problem. He continued to see me for several years. I credit Dr. Hoye for helping save my life, literally. If you need someone who will provide high quality, compassionate care, then Dr. Hoye would be an excellent choice.

I’ve been seeing Isaac for awhile now and I find him highly professional, instinctive, nurturing and challenging. Exactly what I’ve been looking for in a therapist. I’ve made the right choice on this journey.

Could not speak more highly of my experience. Isaac was wonderful to work with. Very knowledgeable and empathetic!

An unacceptable and unprofessional group of people. I was not allowed to switch therapists when I expressed I was uncomfortable. So if you go here, make sure you like the therapist you’re with, because you will not be able to change.
