UF Health Psychiatry - Jacksonville — Psychiatrist in Jacksonville, FL

Absolutely the most incompetent office staff at this office. We drove 2 hours after waiting 4 months to get my son to his appointment after being given an estimate in October verbally over the phone. When we arrived for our appointment, we were now told it would be double what we were previously quoted. Office staff told me they had it written down that they had given me this exact quote last year which is a lie as I wrote down at the time the amount they told me. I was never sent a written estimate at the time so it is now a case of he said/she said. No one re-verified insurance or benefits despite our appointment being after the first of the year. As we spoke, I was quoted a couple of different amounts that changed and didn’t add up. I canceled on the spot as I had budgeted for a certain amount and could not afford to pay double. Disgraceful customer service. Will not return to this practice.

I just left here was there for 2 nights and they never had a tray of food with my name on it the day nurses dont do their job they just sit around on their phones and when we ask a question it gets ignored i didnt get any hygiene stuff and they only did group once the time i was there its not helpful at all the only reason it helped me is because i had a great doctor and case worker and the talk shit about the patients right infront of us

Ive been going here for a while and they have helped me tremendously in every way. Just recently I’ve had trouble getting a medication and having to fight with insurance and the pharmacy who just wanting more and more. Shan helped me out the whole way. Without having to blow them up to get results she helped me and had my back getting my medications. Big shout out to her and everyone working up there having to deal with not only us but fighting insurances and pharmacies for us too.

Very offensive she only talked and listen to the person next to me & not me like I didn't matter 🙄👩🏿‍⚕️yeah and in the end 💀 shady talk not appropriate or professional yeah bro that's why I don't allow anyone in my business anymore because they can't be trusted or something not correct

Best food ever. Appreciate the help I received. I'm better now. Thank God for the support and kindness. However, I recently found out that I was billed multiple times for medicine that I was prescribed. That's medical fraud, in the state of Florida, you can get some serious time for this. Thank God I know my rights. I have been through the legal system since I was in my 20s. My Momma told me to NEVER settle, in life, or in court. Also, I am my own person who is over my own finances. Legally, you cannot have me committed to a group home, or a long term care hospital. You're not allowed to ever do that nonsense to me.

I would like to share that having a company that deals with mental health to be there when you need them I called a young lady 15 minutes before my appointment and she had to be downstairs within 15 minutes to get me in a wheelchair because I’m blowing a bone in my knees and she understood that and her name is Asia and she Is A CNA my heart was tight. My legs was hurting, but God sent me an angel. Thank you. Have a great day.

These 1 star reviews are warranted. Ridiculous to call this place a mental health facility in any form. I went there already with a full diagnosis and was requesting a medication change and was denied medication I need to cope with my mental illness. I don’t even care enough to do reviews but this place is so awful it should only be used as a last resort for your well being.

To all the the negative comments, this is entitlement and you are in your right to say what you feel. I don't have any issues with UF Health Mental Health they worked with me on my mental health issues. The phone line is something they can work on, my office visits they has been fair to me and try to find a solution to my mental health to make it less lightly for me to develop a further mental health issue. They are only humans like you and I and work to provide good medical care for their patients that have mental health problems. This is my take on this and it's not as bad as people presumed it to be.

In the past, I have had excellent service here. A few months ago I had a new patient appointment. I missed it because I was having a mental breakdown and couldn’t talk, I have autism and select mutism. I was trying to remember everything I needed to tell the person that answered the phone so that I could make an appointment. Instead, all I got was, “we are not making appointments for new patients.” She said this three times and then I Said “I already had a new appointment but I missed it,” and then she told me not to yell. I was raising my voice, and then when she told me to calm down, and there was no reason to yell of course I got even angrier. I am sorry, but I teach ESE students. I am used to students with mental illnesses and behavioral disabilities. When someone is having a bad day and yelling at you, you let them vent. Because this person does not understand that, I feel at best for my mental health if I travel to Gainesville UF Health Psychiatry instead. I do not want to have the opportunity to yell at this person again because I know I will. And I know it is wrong! So I will avoid her until my mental health is better. When talking with someone who has ADHD and autism, interrupting them makes things so much worse. She interrupted me a lot. I give one star for the person that I spoke with. I give 3 to 4 stars for the providers that I have seen in the past.

My daughter was a patient with UF Behavioral Health for about 3 years. They have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They have an answering system that relays your requests through a call center so you can never reach a physician directly. Its an endless game of phone tag and extremely rude , unapologetic, children with bad attitudes working at the call center, half the tome I had to ask to speak to a manager. They try to direct you to a portal for online communication also, but when asked to have someone call me , I would not get a response. I am so glad I no longer trust this practice for my childs care. Best thing I did this year was fire them.
