I finished reading volume one of your book “Strength You Can’t See” — the e-book series and I found it most helpful. I appreciate the way you identify phrases we can offer that actually encourage a person to grieve in their own time, while still letting them know you will be there for them in any manner they need while they go about grieving. I found that I was guilty of using each and every one of those 10 phrases you listed as words we often hear spoken in our family and throughout the black community when someone suffers a loss. Moreover, you helped me see how those spoken phrases aren’t very helpful to the person that’s actually grieving. I know those same words/phrases spoken to me intending to console me weren’t helpful when I was grieving. Actually, I often secluded myself to grieve. I may have done so as a means to dismiss those trite phrases and talk to My Lord Jesus Christ. I especially like the list of comforting words/phrases you shared in your book. I thought the list of 20 phases was spot on for actually helping someone feel seen and that it was okay to grieve. I intend to actually embrace and practice using your 20 suggested phrases and to stay away from that list of 10 sayings we often utter to console our loved ones when death strikes. So again thank you for sharing your book with me and please know that I’m looking forward to the second volume of your e-book series. Your book “Strength You Can’t See” is definitely something our black community needs to know more about. Sincerely, Jae

Strength You Can’t see helped my family in so many ways that my husband and I cannot begin to express. Both of our daughters needed help with their Mental health in various capacities and I was unable to find the right fit for them re providers. Especially provider who are female and Christian based. Either they would not call us back in a timely manner, set appointments consistently or align with our parenting plan. Just when we were about to give up. Mrs. Buckholtz helped us! She never gave up on us! She is so caring and through her persistent follow up, we were able to find the right provider. Thank you Strength You Can’t see!
