Just had an adhd assessment with Xyla. Absolute crap, they rely on yes/no questions without getting to know the patient. Also, interviewed by a mental health nurse, not a psychologist or psychotherapist. If you are asked if you want to leave the NHS waiting list I would highly suggest don’t. These people are paid a lot of money by the NHS, out of our pockets. A more personal interview should’ve been given.
The assessors were brilliant they were really kind, patient and easy to talk to. They made myself and my daughter feel comfortable straight away, and the whole experience felt supportive and reassuring. The process was also incredibly efficient. After being on the NHS waiting list for years, we couldn’t believe how quickly everything moved. We had answers within weeks, and the communication throughout was clear and straightforward. The support offered after the diagnosis has been great as well. We were given really helpful advice and guidance, and it’s made such a difference for us as a family
After over five years of sitting on a waiting list I found Xyla and had an excellent experience. Everything felt completely judgement free, and I finally have the clarity of a diagnosis. The assessment process was clear and straightforward, which helped a lot as someone who sometimes struggles with things like following up or booking appointments, something I know can be common for neurodiverse people. I would definitely recommend Xyla
My son has been on an NHS waiting list for both an ADHD and autism assessment for over 18 months, so I decided to look into the costs of getting a private assessment. After doing a lot of research I came across Xyla and decided to take the first step because of the quality and depth of their assessments, and the fact that they also work with the NHS delivering these types of assessments. I moved forward with a combined assessment for my son, and everything was conducted virtually. I’ll admit I was nervous about that at first, but our clinician quickly put both me and my son at ease. The whole process was smooth and straightforward. We also needed input from my son’s teacher, which really helped shape the assessment and overall understanding of his needs. I’m so grateful to the whole team at Xyla, especially our clinician. They showed genuine care and compassion throughout the entire process, and since receiving the outcome of my son’s diagnosis, life has already become so much clearer. It’s also really reassuring to know that Xyla offers support beyond diagnosis, which we’re now looking into.
I just wanted to share my sincere appreciation for the incredible support and professionalism shown during my son's recent assessment with Xyla. As a parent, I felt reassured and genuinely listened to throughout the process from start to finish. The experience was handled with such empathy, clarity and respect. It made a huge difference to us. Thank you for making a potentially overwhelming experience feel safe, supportive, and empowering.
Recently got a joint assessment for my seven year old as we had been "high priority" on the NHS for over a year. The assessors were wonderful with us and our child felt comfortable to talk to them. Everything was done remotley so we could fit it around work and the payment options meant it was far cheaper than competitors and easy to manage. I couldn't believe how fast it all was In comparison it was all done within weeks. Would recommend to anyone who needs this kind of help.
The staff were incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and empathetic throughout my entire experience. From booking my initial free call to speaking with someone directly, every team member I interacted with was approachable, friendly, and truly understanding. Their professionalism and warmth made me feel heard and valued—thank you for making the process so seamless and reassuring.
My daughter recently had a combined ADHD and autism assessment through Xyla, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about the whole experience. Our assessor, Emel, was absolutely fantastic. She took the time to explain everything step by step and was really thorough and kind throughout the whole process. After waiting nearly 4 years on the NHS list, finally getting a diagnosis has been life changing. Having the assessment done remotely was also a huge plus. Our daughter felt more relaxed at home, and it was far less overwhelming than going into a clinic. Xyla were also really flexible with appointment times. We even had a 6pm slot, which meant no time off work. From start to finish, everything was quick and efficient. We’re so grateful to Emel and the Xyla team. This has made a big difference for our whole family.
My partners son had been on an NHS waiting list for an ADHD and autism assessment, and we were facing a wait of at least two years. Realistically, he would have entered high school without an assessment or diagnosis, and without the support or understanding he might need. From our first conversation with Xyla, things moved very quickly. Within two weeks, the assessments were scheduled, and within six weeks, we had a comprehensive report and a clear diagnosis. The entire process was carried out remotely by friendly, highly skilled professionals who put our son at ease, making what could have been a stressful experience feel comfortable and reassuring. We’re incredibly grateful to Xyla for giving us the clarity and confidence to move forward, and for making such a meaningful difference to our family’s journey.
Our 9-year-old daughter has suspected ADHD, and after waiting over a year on the NHS waiting list, we turned to Xyla in search of answers. We had previously gone through the NHS assessment process with our son, which, although ultimately helpful, was lengthy and conducted face-to-face. Because of that experience, I was initially slightly hesitant about the virtual format Xyla offered – I wasn’t sure it could match the depth and connection of an in-person assessment. But from the very first five minutes, all those doubts disappeared. Our clinician immediately put both my daughter and me at ease. She was calm, compassionate, professional, and most importantly, genuinely human. Her approach was warm and flexible, allowing our daughter to feel comfortable while thoughtfully balancing how much input to involve from us as parents. Our primary concern was ensuring that our daughter receives the right support in school, especially with the transition to high school approaching. The timeliness and quality of the assessment have been truly life-changing. Rather than waiting indefinitely, we now have clarity, direction, and a sense of relief as we move forward. Xyla delivered outstanding service from start to finish. Their expertise, empathy and clinical excellence far exceeded every expectation. We are deeply thankful and wholeheartedly recommend them to any family navigating similar challenges.
