I’ve had sessions with Laura for a couple months and they really have been groundbreaking for my mental health. I began the sessions with a lack of direction and purpose for life. my main goal initially was to establish some sense of direction, this was my expectation. With guidance, I was able to connect with myself using breathing techniques. Throughout the sessions, I came to realise that my overthinking and self criticism had decreased substantially. This was really groundbreaking for me as I dealt with a lot of self shame. I’ve learnt so much things about myself along the way and understanding myself has made self compassion easier to practise. One reason I felt I was able to experience everything is due to feeling safe. I really felt safe in the space and with Laura. I also loved how she allowed me to take lead in my sessions which has helped for me to voice my needs. There are also different techniques which I really enjoyed. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Laura and I feel I got what I was looking for and even more. I feel that I can manage my emotions and take better care of myself with the tools I’ve been given. Laura offers a safe specifically tailored to you practice space. She will guide you through understanding where you are holding tension in your body and give you practical exercises to help you move through them and release the tension. As a dancer I thought I was connected to my body but my world changed when she showed me the ways in which I could breathe more deeply and reconnect with parts of my body that I hadn't realised I had numbed away from due to past trauma. If you would have told me that learning how to breathe in different ways would transform my life prior to starting with Laura I would not have believed you but I am now a firm believer in the power of breath work and the benefits it's brought to my life. Despite no longer having sessions with Laura I continue to practice breath work in my day to day life and share my acquired knowledge to everyone who's interested.
