I can't recommend Gareth enough as a therapist. From the first session, he made me feel heard, understood, and supported. His expertise and empathy helped me work through some very difficult challenges in my life, and I always felt that he was on my side. Gareth is incredibly insightful, intuitive, and patient, and he helped me gain a deeper understanding of myself and my patterns of behavior. He also provided me with practical tools and strategies that I could use outside of our sessions to help manage my emotions and thoughts. He is always present, engaged, and willing to go the extra mile to help. He never made me feel rushed or judged, and he created a safe and welcoming space where I could be myself. I truly believe that Gareth has made a significant positive impact on my life, and I feel grateful to have had him as my therapist. If you're looking for a therapist who is both skilled and compassionate, look no further than Gareth.
I went to a number of different therapists in the North West and not one was able to make feel as relaxed and centred as Gareth did. His sessions have really helped me grow and accept things that have been happening in my life - I can't thank him enough. I believe that because he only focuses on mens mental health it's made him specialise on some really unique methods and practices in helping us men to open up / talk more - I couldn't recommend him enough.
Gareth has been and continues to be an incredible help to me. I'd been finding various issues difficult for many years, and previous therapists may have assisted in the short term but just hadn't succeeded in fundamentally altering my perception of and approach to life's issues. Gareth's wisdom, advice and support have succeeded in helping me understand and see things differently, and I feel calmer and more content. I wish I had discovered him 20 years ago! Can't recommend him highly enough; in fact, I've recommended Gareth to a number of friends and they are all of the same opinion
Highly recommended. Gareth has given me an understanding of my own behaviour, emotions, feelings and reactions in this world. Helping me reach a better place with issues relating to family and the workplace I'd been struggling with. Its improved my performance and my enjoyment at work and helped me reach a better place with relationships with my friends and family.
Going to see Gareth was one of the best decisions I ever made. An excellent therapist and compassionate listener, Gareth is highly knowledgeable in his field and easy to talk to. Sessions with Gareth have changed my life. Give it a go!
Gareth provides support of the highest quality through a caring and sensitive approach, allowing each appointment to flow at a pace which is most comfortable for the client whilst simultaneously paying close attention in order to identify the root cause(s) of the difficulties/suffering you are experiencing. Gareth is then able to work constructively to comfort you, drawing upon years of experience and a deep understanding of the human psyche and social behaviours in order to provide clear advice and practical strategies tailored specifically to help you. I am confident that Gareth will make you feel comfortable during discussions and will serve as a reliable source of support, helping you over time to navigate towards a happier and healthier state of being. I highly recommend Gareth and his services.
Gareth makes you think. It's what we should all do and apply more often but sometimes we need direction because emotions can take over. With the advice and support that Gareth provided I was able to realign my thoughts. They say that "you are at your worst within your own mind" but you can also be your best. The difference is in what you do with what you know. Gareth guided me on that path, providing me with the right psychological toolset that gave me the strength to not only let go of what was causing my concerns but manage my thoughts surrounding them in the process. Understanding route causes allows us to manage more effectively how they affect us. His guidance was and still is invaluable as I draw on it from time to time. Emotions are managed not controlled, causes are identified, actions are instilled.... I would highly recommend Gareth. He is very professional but more importantly effective in his methods and means to help you help yourself.
I saw Gareth with some trepidation for a first session, at no charge. I was immediately put at ease, he has such a reassuring, calm manner, coupled with an incredible depth of knowledge of his subject. It is no exaggeration to say he has helped me reassess how I am and feel in life, to helped me make changes at a small scale and large scale changes result. This change in me I would never have thought possible and honestly I feel a different man as a result. I would 100% recommend Gareth to anyone who is feeling stressed out, depressed, frustrated, confused, lost, all those horrendous emotions we can feel - often without much clue why.
I first met Gareth 10 years ago and he has since become a major influence on my personal and professional development. Initially I sought out Gareth’s help as I was struggling with anxiety, low self esteem and substance abuse. After the initial 4 sessions he suggested, I literally felt like someone had lifted the lid off my mind. I was able to understand that many of my thoughts, feelings and negative patterns were all in fact superficial symptoms of more deep rooted issues that I’d never been able to recognise, let alone deal with. I continued to meet with Gareth as he had taught me more in 4 hours than I had learned in 30 years of living, and the pace of self discovery has yet to slow down. Gareth brings everything from ancient wisdom, cutting edge neuroscience, history and popular culture to the table in sessions in order to help you understand yourself. He not only finds the best examples to explain his point, but also, very perceptively, the ones that he understands will resonate most with you as an individual. He’s also very funny...kind of like a cross between Freud and Larry David :-) Gareth is an incredibly perceptive and incisive listener who always helps you to reflect on how you see situations, how you see yourself and how you are with yourself. There is never any judgement in sessions, only total compassion whilst encouraging you to be more compassionate with yourself. In addition to listening however, Gareth has offered me some of the best advice I’ve ever received which has influenced both my personal and professional life. His advice however is not a monologue. He works very hard at asking the right questions, guiding you through a thought process that results in you finding your own answers. I can honesty say that life is much better due to Gareth’s influence. I’m happier, more successful and have managed to feel comfortable in my own skin. Would highly recommend to anyone no matter how big or small they think the problem is.
The reason why I am writing this review is because Gareth from Men should talk completely changed my life. I started seeing Gareth about 5 years ago, bare in mind I rarely stick with things and I have stuck with Gareth for 5 years. I was struggling with bad anxiety feeling lost in the world without direction or an understanding of why I was getting anxious without any tools to help me through this difficult stage in my life, doctors just advised me to take anti depressants to stop me getting anxious, which only made things worse by completely numbing everything not actually getting to the route of the problem, nhs councillors was next on my list, useless they never tried to understand why, they just gave you a few non helpful techniques, I new something else was out there I just needed to search hard enough, when one day I stumbled across Gareth at men should talk, I was skeptical at first given everything else I had tried and failed. I mustered up the courage and went to my first session, it was honestly the first time I felt at ease in years, some one who just understood me accepted me and had complete and utter compassion towards me, bit by bit with Gareth guiding me through our sessions, he helped me understand why I was getting anxious, he helped me accept it, and gave me the most important tools to help me. These tools, help and guidance have honestly changed my life, Gareth was always there when I needed him, and he is one of the genuine few that really wants to help people, I am so thankful for meeting Gareth, my life has completely changed. Please go and see Gareth even if it’s just for the initial first session you will not regret it.
