Got in touch with Shad a month before Copenhagen marathon after suffering with hamstring tightness following a full marathon training block. Shad was very knowledgeable and provided me with an easy to follow plan which lead me to securing a PB with no pain on race day!! Would 100% recommend!
I visited Maximum Performance Sports Therapy & Physiotherapy in Manchester to address a back and shoulder injury from my Hyrox training, and I was thoroughly impressed. Shad conducted a detailed assessment of my injuries and explained the issues clearly and understandably. His hands-on treatments provided genuine relief from the pain, and he prescribed targeted exercises to strengthen the affected areas and prevent recurrence. What I valued most was his ongoing monitoring of my progress, making adjustments to the plan during follow-up sessions to ensure optimal recovery. As a result, I'm now back to training pain-free and feeling stronger overall. I highly recommend Shad and the team at Maximum Performance.
I have been working with Shad for the past month after developing shin splints in marathon training. He has been amazing throughout - explaining everything he’s doing, and giving me exercises to help/prevent pain. Couldn’t recommend enough!
I came to shad, at Maximum Performance with what I thought was rotator cuff injury, after being misdiagnosed. Within 20 minutes of the full body MOT, I was diagnosed with something else and treatment began straight away. From when I started in Jan, to now, my injury has progressed immensely and I couldn’t be happier with the results, less pain, more mobility and a greater understanding of biomechanics. Shad, doesn’t just want to help you fix your injury but teach you how to prevent it going forward, which I think is a testament not only to his professionalism but his character as well. Could not recommend Maximum Performance and Shad enough. (Even though he is a Liverpool)😂
I’ve been seeing Shad for an injury and has been really helpful with my rehab and getting me back training. Always there if you have questions and would recommend.
Irvine is an excellent physio - friendly, knowledgeable, and great to work with. He quickly diagnosed the issue I was dealing with and put together a clear, effective treatment plan. Thanks to his support, I’m back to running again. Highly recommend!”
Shad has been incredible at treating my long term knee problems. I came to him about 2 months ago after experiencing bilateral knee problems for almost 2 years. After seeing what feels like a hundred different physios, Shad has been able to get me back into the gym, moving without pain, and actually rebuilding my muscles that had atrophied from the previous guidance I always got from alternative physios - which was "to rest"... This progress is something I've not been able to achieve for so long, and it's changing my life. He's super knowledgeable and you can tell he really cares for his patients development. So many experienced physios have really outdated ideas and information whereas Shad is always adopting new philosophies and learning more to pass on this to his patients. I am truly grateful to him 🙏🏼
Having pulled my calf quite badly in April I was recommended maximum performance sports therapy to help with my recovery. That's where Iet the main man Irvine. Honestly a lovely guy with so much knowledge and most importantly from my point of view patience. Any questions or queries he's a phone call away and I'm so glad I used him. Cannot recommend highly enough and I feel great and stronger then ever. Thank you very much.
I cannot recommend Shad enough. I've been coming to the clinic since March 2025 due to issues with my knees and hips and I've seen a massive improvement. I've been able to start doing interval running which I've not done in a very long time. Shad is very personable and is awesome!
A trainer I trust recommended Maximum Performance, and when I started struggling with an injury while training for a marathon, I decided to go for a free consultation. From the moment I walked in, I was reassured by how thorough the initial assessment was. I chose to start treatment, and working with Irvine has been incredible. From the start, he really listened to my concerns and created a recovery plan tailored to my schedule and goals, all while prioritizing recovery to help me get back to running stronger. I couldn’t be happier with the results, the professionalism, and the support I’ve received. I highly recommend Maximum Performance!
