I genuinely do not like leaving negative reviews, especially for healthcare services, but my experience with SEIK Psychiatry has unfortunately been one of the most stressful and disappointing experiences I have had as a patient. While the initial ADHD assessment process was quick and relatively positive, the level of support and care after diagnosis has been extremely poor. I have spent weeks repeatedly chasing responses regarding essential ADHD medication, often receiving no reply despite multiple follow-ups and urgent emails explaining that I was running out of medication. I was left in a situation where I had to ration my ADHD medication just to try and make it last longer, and I have now reached the point of having no medication left at all while still under SEIK’s care and still within the titration process. The stress, anxiety, and uncertainty this caused has been overwhelming, especially while balancing work pressures, university deadlines, and day-to-day responsibilities that my medication helps me manage. I eventually discovered that my emails had apparently been routed into an archive inbox that was “not checked regularly.” While this was acknowledged and apologised for, the impact this had on me was significant. As a private patient paying substantial costs for appointments, prescriptions, and medication, I expected a far higher standard of patient care and responsiveness. What has been most frustrating is the contrast in responsiveness. Throughout this process, I felt more like a financial transaction than a patient receiving care. SEIK were always very quick to contact me when payment or invoices were required, but when I urgently needed support regarding prescriptions, shared care, or continuity of treatment, communication became incredibly slow and inconsistent. Despite the communication failures being acknowledged on their side, I was still expected to pay additional appointment fees and expensive private prescription costs just to avoid going without medication. The lack of empathy and urgency shown during such a vulnerable period was honestly devastating. As someone still under their care and actively going through medication titration, I genuinely expected regular follow-ups and some level of proactive support to check how I was coping, whether the medication was working, and to ensure I was not left struggling without treatment. Instead, most of the communication I received was focused on booking further appointments and paying additional fees. Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, it seems many patients have experienced similar problems involving poor aftercare, long delays, difficulties obtaining prescriptions, and feeling unsupported once the initial diagnosis stage is complete. That is extremely concerning for a service supporting neurodivergent patients who are already struggling. I genuinely did not want to leave a review like this, but I feel it is important for others to understand that while the diagnosis process may seem efficient initially, the aftercare experience can be extremely stressful once you are reliant on ongoing support and medication management. I cannot recommend SEIK based on my experience so far.
I’m genuinely grateful for the care and professionalism I experienced during my autism assessment with SEIK. After waiting seven years on NHS lists, I came into the process feeling understandably cautious. From the beginning, however, I felt met with warmth, respect and kindness. Costa created a calm, safe space where I felt truly seen and heard, and I appreciated the thoughtful way my partner was included. Dr Eleanor Akaho was thorough, measured and professional, and the final report reflects my lived experience with accuracy and dignity. In the past, I have sometimes felt minimised when raising questions about autism. This experience was different. I felt listened to, taken seriously and treated with care. I would not hesitate to recommend SEIK to anyone seeking an adult autism assessment.
Despite SEIK being recommended to us, we did not have a good experience. It took several weeks and repeated chasing via email (all calls went unanswered to voicemail) to get an initial telephone appointment, followed by another few weeks of chasing (having been told that they would come back to us within a week) to be informed via email that they were unable to support us. For individuals who are already struggling to navigate a difficult system, we found SEIK’s attitude and approach unprofessional.
It appears that there is a real mixed bag of companies providing neuro-diverse assessments which made it difficult to choose the right one. From the first contact I had with SEIK Psychiatry, I felt comfortable and sure that they would provide me with a legitimate and supportive assessment. This remained true throughout the whole process and I couldn't recommend them enough.
I can not rate seik enough. Any one who is looking for a autism assessment or adhd I would highly highly recommend seik pschartry. I chose to go through seik after many failings with the NHS and wrong dignois which has caused me so much harm. But seik have been so supportive the whole way through right from the initial telphone call the emails every step of the way to check in an both parts the assessments I was actually listerenrd to and understood. Dr ruslin also helped me to understand the link to my physical health and my autism. Even after the assessment the admin have amazing and so supportive so thank you to everyone at seik.
I had an amazing experience with Costa and Dr Praveen. I felt very heard, and that they were well aware of how autism presents differently in women, as well as masking. I am very happy that I chose S E I K Psychiatry for my ASD assessment. Admin was also great with very fast responses. Thank you so much!!!
In a world where unacceptable NHS waitlists and inflated private costs often leave families in limbo, SEIK Psychiatry has been nothing short of a lifeline - calm, expert, affordable, and profoundly human. As a neurodivergent-led, not-for-profit provider, SEIK truly walks the walk when it comes to timely, accessible and high-quality assessment and care. Their approach was the gold standard from start to finish, and I cannot speak highly enough of what they’ve given our family. Our journey with SEIK saw all three of us - myself, my son, and my daughter - properly and compassionately assessed for neurodivergent conditions. I received an adult ADHD diagnosis, my son the same, and our daughter received a long-overdue Autism diagnosis. Each of these brought with it not only practical support but a huge emotional shift. For me personally, the diagnosis was what I can only describe as ‘grelief’ - grief and relief interwoven. Finally, I can see myself clearly and kindly. My self-talk has softened, and self-compassion has grown. I’m developing tools for managing myself in a neurotypical world or work and ways. That clarity has been game-changing. The impact on the children has been just as transformative. With SEIK’s assessments and their careful triangulation of our observations, the children’s own self-knowledge, and school reports, we’ve been able to access crucial pupil support plans and passports - support that, for our daughter especially, would have arrived years too late via the current public system. The team at SEIK are remarkable. Costa, our psychologist, brought such calm, gentle understanding to every conversation. He held space for all of us in ways that felt both professional and human. And Coro, our psychiatrist, had the most genuine ability to relate to our children - not as case studies, but as full people. Her warmth, insight, and authentic style gave us trust instantly. SEIK’s mission to break down barriers to diagnosis isn’t just a tagline - it’s what they do. Their commitment to timely, affordable care without compromise is reshaping the landscape of neurodiversity support in the UK. They are a not-for-profit, but more than that: I’d say they are a force for good and an era of ND enlightenment. Thanks to SEIK, we are now a confirmed neurosparkly family - aware, proud, and learning to honour our brilliant brains. The road ahead won’t always be easy, but at least now, we’re walking it with the lights turned on. To anyone considering assessment for themselves or a loved one: don’t wait. SEIK Psychiatry is the real deal. And we will forever be grateful.
My son recently had an ADHD assessment and I honestly can’t recommend this service enough. From the very first contact, the process was clear, supportive, and easy to understand. Everything was explained well at each stage, which really helped put both me and my son at ease. The psychiatrist was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything in a way my son could understand. We felt listened to and supported throughout.
Need a reliable company for your ND assessment? As Scotland doesn't have RTC option and waiting lists at our healthboards for ND assessment of adults are long or non-existent, I ended up using SEIK in the spring of 2024 for my ADHD assessment. Couple of phone calls, numerous online forms and two extensive 90+ minute Zoom sessions. First with a psychologist and second with psychiatrist. The detailed report I received 2-3 weeks after final session has since then been accepted by my local NHS too. Titration service with NP Laura has been easy and breezy. Montly repeat prescription fee £25 is affordable too. Many thanks to the team and esp Dr Akaho for changing my life.
My experience with SIEK psychiatry has been very positive. The whole process was very fast and efficient, with the first call coming the day after I inquired about this practice online. I have been very happy with the way I have been treated by everybody involved in my assessments, including the lady who booked in my appointments. Overall I have found the experience easy and comfortable and I appreciate the staff at this practice.
