I seriously question how this provider is operating under an NHS contract. RTN confirmed receipt of my referral in November 2025. I was initially told to expect around a 4-week wait, which was later changed to a 12-week processing timeframe without clear communication. After that, RTN cited technical issues and stopped providing any realistic timeline for next steps. Repeated follow-ups have produced only generic replies, with no clear status, accountability, or estimated timeframe. As of March 2026 - 5 months after I was referred - there is still no confirmed date or indication of when the assessment will progress. Based on this experience, I have very little confidence in the organisation’s ability to manage assessments reliably, and I would treat overly positive reviews with caution.
Do not go private for assessment with this company. They no longer advertise time frames on their website but expect this to take longer than anticipated. I signed up because they previously advertised 10-12 week diagnostic process. The reality is that I completed by paperwork in September and was offered an appointment in February, having raised the time frame issue an appointment was found in October and I was told there would be then a 10-12 week for the outcomes. It has now been almost 14 weeks since assessment and having been told my report would be with me in the next day or two, I am still waiting. The ADHD process requires a second video call with this process anticipating to take another 8 weeks (only told this now after waiting 14 weeks), therefore likely be 20+ weeks of waiting post assessment. All in all anticipated to have taken at least 26 weeks of waiting, assuming they stick to the time frame. Had I not questioned the earliest available date for assessment I would have been looking at a 10 months process, very different to the 10-12 weeks suggested originally. My assessor was lovely and helpful and Lawrence is always nice if I manage to get through on the phones but this does not feel like a company that was build with neurodivergent people in mind, especially when by contrast I've had friends receive assessment and results within 3 months from other private providers who also provide right to choose options. Edit: lots of mixed messages and didn’t need to wait a further 8 weeks for an appointment and after further chasing was sent ASD and ADHD reports about 14 weeks after assessment therefore whole process around 20 very long weeks..
Still waiting on my diagnosis and it’s been well over 12 weeks!!! They have also been completely ignoring my emails for the past month, they don’t care about you. Do not respond to this telling me to email some feedback team and actually address messing people around. Thanks. Edit: They have now sent me another form to complete even though it has been made clear God knows how many months ago the form is not applicable as I don’t have anyone from my childhood to speak for me and now it apparently doesn’t just take up to 12 weeks, it’s only a guideline now. How about taking accountability??? Instead of attempting to blame the patient??? Their email to me; We understand it's been 12 weeks since you had your assessment, but as explained in the previous email to you, this is an approximate figure; we cannot guarantee that the report will be completed by this date. Also, we had to chase for a developmental questionnaire, which came through on 12/09/2025. At this stage, the diagnostic report is currently undergoing our three-stage reviewing phase, and I can assure you that the report is being actively worked on. We are very grateful for your support and patience during this time. Whilst waiting to receive your report, we will ensure the diagnostic report is with you as soon as possible. I have contacted the clinical assessments team to chase this process completion for you. If there is anything we can assist you with in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Josephine
was reffered by my GP beginning of this year after 4 weeks I was given the questionnaires and provided with a assessment date, my assessor was very understanding and helped with what I was trying to describe, and listened to, the diagnostic took around 12 weeks which was advisedto my when i had my assessment, the assessment process was only around 90 mins but I didn't feel rushed and was assured it wouldn't matter if we ran over time. The whole process 9 months from refferal to treatment,The only down side is the communication as to receive a response to a email took a week, but their website did state they are having high demands,. But hopefully this should be resolved soon,
In my opinion they don’t stick to there time frames on diagnosis, they have had very little contact with my over the 18 months or so, I appreciate it’s difficult to diagnose things, but not doing this in a timely manner doesn’t help, as certain diagnosis’s need to be confirmed before appropriate medication can be given, for me to have an improved quality of life moving forward as I’ve had lots of mental health struggles from being a child. They also haven’t responded or acknowledged my compliant asking for written answers. GP Informed
These guys refused the referral by my GP. I have been waiting for years to be assessed. 1 star. As they did not tell the GP the reason why. Literally been waiting years to get treatment, so these guys have just wasted about 9 months of my life.
I have received the worst service from RTN Mental Health Solutions. My GP referred me to them for an ADHD assessment - against my wishes as I wanted to go with Care ADHD. Apparently, RTN’s waiting times were shorter.. well, 8 months later and I still do not have an official diagnoses or treatment plan. In the 8 months I just received 1 measly “initial assessment” appointment with them. When contacted, I only got a generic reply in response. I’ve asked my GP not to refer anyone else to RTN as they only care about the private patients.
Please steer away from RTN Mental Health Solutions. They misinform you on waiting times, for both assessments and reports. I started my AuDHD journey in January, and 10 months later I'm still waiting for my ADHD report. This is after e-mailing them twice to chase and sending a message through Facebook. As someone has already mentioned, how they manage to bag a NHS is mind blowing. Please, if you're wanting an assessment via the 'Right to Choose', I'd definitely go with another company.
How this company was ever awarded an NHS contract is beyond comprehension. I was led to believe they were capable of delivering a high quality, hassle free assessment and in relatively good time. My family and I missed the deadline to submit the pending RTN report to the EHCP assessment stage. It’s been almost 12 months and we still do not have a quality report available. Timescales were certainly not realistically achievable and seem to only be an advertising gimmick. I had to formally complain several times with regard to a lack of diagnostic clarity. Factual errors contained in the report and a disjointed diagnostic narrative which is unfit for its intended purposes. Even the member of staff providing the post-diagnostic interview was conceded about the quality of the report. In addition, in error, RTN breeched my child’s medical records and shared this information, a full report to other parties without my expressed consent. In fact I had telephoned the service ahead of time to ensure they understood that I did not consent to information sharing. I will be taking this matter up with the NHS clinical commissioning group to address a significantly substandard and poor quality of patient care.
For both private and right to choose ADHD pathways, go somewhere else, over the last few years I have experienced both at RTN and they have been mostly a shambles. Amongst many other issues, there was good 4 month period in the private pathway where I didn't get medication because of some psychiatrist who was eventually let go once I threatened legal action/contacting the ombudsman. Then with RTNS help, one of the few good experiences I did get onto the right to choose pathway from private, but ever since has continued to be an absolute debacle, each month they decide theres a new portal that needs to be used, each time only told once having submitted a prescription request using the "old" portal (if told at all). Save yourself the pain and use someone else.
