My Khiron experience was excellent for re-setting my nervous system, which was something I’d struggled with for years. The programme gave me the tools to rectify that in the time I invested. So I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone The staff are not only extremely well trained, but very human in the way they care for you. The faculties are all top notch as is the organisation This is my go to now for any nervous system co regulation work
I’ve visited Khiron Clinics on several occasions and have always been deeply impressed by both the environment and the approach of the team. The space itself feels calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed, creating an immediate sense of safety and professionalism. What stands out most is the clinic’s commitment to trauma-informed, evidence-based care and the clear depth of knowledge within the team. It’s encouraging to see spaces that take such a relational and compassionate approach to mental health and wellbeing. I also regularly see members of the Khiron team participating in leading conferences focused on trauma recovery and mental health research, which speaks to their commitment to staying engaged with the latest developments in the field. I’m grateful for the opportunity to spend time there and learn more about the work being done, and I look forward to staying connected with the important work happening at Khiron.
Really impressed by Khiron Clinics - a warm, welcoming space and equally impressive practitioners and staff. It was great to hear about the therapies and support on offer, and the emphasis on holistic care. Really excited to see Khiron Clinics progress!
Khiron Clinics gives a great insight into trauma and gives a lot of resources to help self. All the sessions were useful in their own way, illuminating different aspects of the nervous system etc. Everyone was kind and considerate at all times.
Overall, my experience at Khiron was very positive. I found the environment grounding and supportive, and I slept very well, which felt important during the initial phase of treatment. Given the relatively short time I was here, I understand I was still in the landing phase. While I did not yet engage in some of the deepen modalities, I appreciate the structure and thoughtfulness of the program. I also want to note that the pairing of the therapists felt especially well matched for me. The balance between Tracey and Lucy was excellent and very supportive!
The countryside setting of this clinic in Oxford is very tranquil and peaceful and much preferred than the busy day clinics in London. The staff were exceptionally helpful and took there time to answer all my questions and gave me a lot of information. The therapists are world renowned and looking at other reviews, you can see why they are so popular for trauma treatment. I would highly recommend you pay a visit and judge for yourself rather than relying on others reviews.
My time at Khiron was life-changing. I went in as a shell of myself, barley functioning, and thanks to the help of the brilliant therapists and caring community, I was able to process and start feeling like myself again. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is struggling with trauma.
I was a resident at Khiron Clinics for just under 6 months, staying solely in their clinic accommodation. During my stay I feel I experienced the best and worst that Khiron offers. The therapists (who I understand are contractors rather than employees) are generally excellent. Many have lived experience of trauma and can compassionately relate to the clients. Their treatment model is very polyvagal informed and intensive and the psychoeducation compliments the body centric approaches. Khiron has some fantastic positives and I am grateful for many of the things I learned and experienced there. However overall my positive experiences were outweighed by the negatives. Khiron advertises itself as trauma informed and an alternative to hospital treatment. In my experience the trauma knowledge just hasn’t translated into safe working practices. This is particularly apparent outside of normal working hours, when the therapists have left. Over the duration of my time there, I met and lived with 23 other residents. 17 of us left ‘prematurely’ as Khiron could not manage or accommodate our behaviour / risks or we could not adapt to the environment we were expected to live in. Sadly one person committed suicide on site during my stay. Effectively 75% of the clients I met didn’t complete their anticipated stabilisation work or expected treatment time at Khiron; not great results when you consider the cost of staying here and the way that Khiron markets itself to potential service users. To me this indicates that Khiron’s pre-admission assessments and ongoing processes just aren’t effective or in some cases safe at managing their clients needs. The Support Workers, while generally kind people, just aren’t equipped or competent to deal with the myriad of issues presented to them by the client base. Access to therapeutic support after hours and at weekends is proactively restricted and difficult to obtain. So, for the sake of yourself and other residents, if you have any factors that increase risk to yourself or could dysregulate others, then please consider other options. This includes self harm, suicidality, higher levels of dysregulation, extreme mood swings and moderate to severe depression. Basically you need to already be fairly stable and willing to follow very prescriptive and controlling rules to flourish here. I did see some people do this, but they were very much in the minority. Unfortunately when I did try to raise my concerns, I wasn’t effectively listened to. This includes at all levels of the organisation, from Benjamin Fry to the Managing Director and all the way to the support workers. My concerns have now been passed to the CQC. Khiron has the potential to become world leading, but at the moment the reality I experienced was comparable to other private psychiatric hospitals but without the required safe guards and competent mental health support in place 24/7.
Thank you to all the stand and Therapists at The Clinic and in the House. big shout out to Steve - you're a legend, theres nothing too much trouble. Treatment at Khiron is far beyond the realms of anything the NHS can offer for Trauma. Such a shame that they are so reluctant / non supportive of their patients 'recovery' rather than the lifetimes 'symptom management' they can offer through their revolving doors for patients. Trust the therapists and process at Khiron - its second to none. Beautiful, safe and tranquil, calming, healing place.
The therapeutic team at Khiron is the best I have ever come across. They helped me when everyone else said they couldn’t/wouldn’t. Even though I couldn’t talk, they found ways to communicate with me, and built up trust over time. I am continuing to work with Khiron through outpatients. They have been the only therapists who have been able to help me and they have made such a difference in my life. I have learnt so much about myself and about what is happening for me, and this has been empowering. Khiron have helped me beyond measure and I owe them my life.
