Kam is a lovely human being, and a skilled EMDR/hypnotherapist. She makes it clear from the start that there needs to be resonance with both parties: she won't lead you on if there's no improvement/connection, and on the clients side there needs to be openness and mental compatability with the treatment. Different therapies work differently on every person, and she is ethical in this acknowledgement. I was treated warmly and with respect. For the hypnotherapy/EMDR itself, I was stunned at the depths we went to. I had tried a hypnotherapist once years ago and the experience had been... let's just say disappointing. With Kam, it felt like an entirely different beast. I had no idea how much my past was effecting my present, and it opened up a Pandora's box. While it wasn't a 'wave a magic wand and everything's perfect' kinda deal - which I feel hypnotherapy is largely marketed at in general - I can honestly say I wouldn't have been able to begin untangling my patterns and improving my life without this experience. I'm still on the journey, and I may go back for some top up sessions when ready/needed. I'm happy to recommend Kam Harris as an EMDR/hypnotherapy practitioner
I came into therapy after over a year of struggling with intense anxiety, derealisation (DPDR), and the aftermath of a traumatic experience that left me feeling disconnected from myself and constantly on edge. I’ve had a great experience with Kam, I came to her for help with a phobia that was giving me increasing levels of anxiety and I really wanted it gone from my life. I wasn’t sure how well EMDR was going to go to work for me, but was open to trying and so far the results have been fantastic for me! The anxiety has significantly reduced and the phobia is no longer on mind all the time as it previous was. I’d highly recommend if you’re seeking help with a phobia.

I had been searching for an EMDR therapist for quite some time before I came across Kam. I was honestly pretty apprehensive at first but I genuinely couldn’t have made a better choice. I’ve had around 5 sessions so far and my life has greatly improved. It’s definitely a more rapid process than traditional talking therapies and a lot more processing happens but this is what I needed. Kam has always helped me feel safe, even prior to starting our sessions together. She allowed me time after our consultation, to think about if this was the right call for me. I truly didn’t think EMDR would work for me but it has truly changed my perspective on a lot of things. My trauma started in my childhood, so I never really knew myself. I didn’t know my values, needs, wants etc.. The more sessions I attend, the more I discover about myself. I have become more loving towards myself and honestly to have gotten this far in such a short amount of time speaks volumes to me. I’ve had 10 years of trying CBT, DBT, psychodynamic and psychotherapy- which all helped me manage the symptoms of my trauma but none of which helped me address the core wounds. I kept self sabotaging no matter how much I learnt in therapy. Beyond that, I used to shake 24/7 from anxiety. It was draining and I hit a rock bottom before finding this EMDR service. I couldn’t even write a simple email back to people. That’s how overwhelmed I had gotten. I remember I cried in the first 10 minutes of our session as Kam was explaining how trauma worked and I immediately thought “I found the right therapist for me”. And I was entirely right. I’m not saying my anxiety has fully cleared up, but I will say I’ve been less reactive and less anxious since beginning the sessions. It comes in waves now and I’m able to rewire my thinking more rapidly. The feelings I feel now don’t feel negative, they just feel like feelings. They exist. But they don’t control me. I have become more optimistic as a person too. I never ever thought I’d get to this stage. Especially considering the fact I had done so much therapy before. But over just 5 sessions my life looks wildly different than when I started. Some sessions are harder than others but this journey is truly worth it. I couldn’t recommend Kam enough! If you’re thinking about it, I’d say go for it ^_^
