DONT GO TO THIS PRACTICE. Unless you're in desperate desperate need. They refused me a treatment that can potentially end my life. Exhaust every other option before if crisis wants to refer you to these so no. I started a treatment that was effective. Without warning they discontinued a drug that is known to kill you if you go cold turkey. Insanity. The doctor told me what I have been taking. Mental health is serious. But the people working within this profession are dangerous. I have flagged it across two other services incase something happens to me. Avoid.

This review is for DR TIM SALES, my consultant psychiatrist while I was there. Absolutely awful man, stuck up private school educated type who literally laughed at me in my face, mocked me, gaslit me by saying "if you even have [x disability]" (after he diagnosed me and was prescribing me medication for this..), made repeated passive aggressive comments about me being 5 minutes late - hate to break it to you Dr Sales but when you are working with people with ADHD and are paid £100-£150k a year to do so you MIGHT just experience people who have mental health disorders and disabilities being late once in a while, not like you're well compensated for your time or anything.... Can't stand this guy, right down to the way he displays thank you cards all over his office to say "look at me and how great i am". I worry for how he treats other patients more disabled than me behind closed doors. Made a complaint about him with PALS and it went nowhere! Totally wasted my time, all he did was say "hes sorry if he made me feel like that". Hes not sorry at all or you know what, he wouldn't have done it :") The reviews say it all- this place is a shame on the nhs

Totally incompetent service Rude staff both in person and on the phone They will book for in for appointments you don't need (like a med review for someone who doesn't take medication) and not offer the help actually needed by the individual. First appointment i left after 5 minutes in tears and it greatly set me back. 5 minutes on the phone today has done the exact same thing. Do yourself a favour and go private or just use chatgpt - you'll likely be better off

I have done a little digging and it seems that there is one therapist that tells virtually every female patient that they have Borderline Personality Disorder. I have 2 friends who have been told they have this by the same therapist and then have gone private instead and been told that it isn't the case. I went to a female peer support group (through a charity) and the majority of them said the same thing, that they had all been told by this service that they had BPD. It's too much of a coincidence that this service (and a particular therapist) are diagnosing so many women with the same thing. Someone needs to look into this.

Great care from the psychiatrist I've been seeing for some time. I've only got positive things to say about the care I've received

The service here is absolutely horrendous, I was stuck with a doctor who gave me 3 weeks of ADHD meds after months of trying to get back on meds since moving to brighton. He told me to book a review when I was almost out and neglected to inform me who would be on annual leave and now I'm supposed to go however long without medication. How am I supposed to review and medication if I'm not on it till the medication review? Why wasn't I given enough meds until my medication review? I'm not a medical professional but surely going on and off a controlled substance every few weeks isn't great for your mental health which is what this clinics whole job is meant to be.

You're better off going private.

Was happy with the consultant Dr. Saeed when I saw him for an appointment and was finally prescribed the correct medication 20 years after first contacting mental health services in another country, but the psychologist (can't remember her name) left me in a severe state of anxiety after making the mistake of discharging me, which is still continuing to negatively affect my mental health after more than half a year. For the past few weeks I've been waiting for a new appointment after asking my GP for a re-referral, and only just found out after phoning them that either no new referral was made, or the referral by my GP was declined (they couldn't even tell me which of the two was the case). Very disappointed with a 'mental health service' that actually makes a patient's mental health worse. Shameful!!!
