As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I often refer my patients to Rock Creek Therapy because they provide excellent therapy. Their therapists are well trained in multiple therapeutic modalities including EMDR and many of the therapists have experience with substance use disorders. They are also very collaborative with prescribers, which improves the patients care as well.
I love working with Rock Creek Therapy. The quality of the clinicians is excellent and I donβt hesitate to refer folks here. I especially love working with Adam Bloom and Dr. Ryan Corl. I also think itβs a great referral source for ADHD testing. Every patient I have referred has had a very positive experience. I highly recommend working with Rock Creek Therapy. Such a great resource for the community!
Dana was a once-in-a-lifetime therapist- we went to her for pre marital counseling and she helped us see the forest through the trees, and end our cycles of tiffs. We owe it all to her π«Ά
This is an outstanding practice with therapists who really care about their clients! They provide extraordinary care and are excellent at working with trauma, relationships, and other issues. Highly recommended!
Take it from a career psychologist who has been involved in the practice of psychotherapy for about 30 years: Charlotte Blutstein and her excellent team are the professionals who are trusted *by* professionals. I keep Rock Creek Therapy on my go-to list for treatment seekers asking me about getting connected to trusted therapists in the DC area. They offer my referrals the choice of in-person and teletherapy sessions (including evening appointments, which is often a hard find). Great group!
Rock Creek Therapy is a rare combination of professional and warm. They do excellent work and really care about people. It's a well-run practice with the best clinicians.
Dr. Corl shaking his head & multiple frowns weren't helpful & seemed judgmental. His unsolicited self-disclosure also caused disconnection, highlighting that he's not like me. I needed to feel safe. When I tried to clarify this & the other red flags I kept painting green, he avoided or gave non-answers which made it worse. When I tell the therapist how he is coming across, how he could help me better or have done something differently, he should respond with an attitude of reassurance & interest. I should feel that he Empathizes with my worry. This is a golden opportunity for the therapist to both build trust & further understand the client's internal world. Given the power differential between the client & therapist, a skilled therapist immediately recognizes the vulnerability that is inherent in the concern & wants to alleviate my worry, otherwise therapy is undermined & the therapist knows this or ought to. If however, the therapist responds with dismissiveness, surprise or confusion, then I believe the therapist is not skilled and one should consider working with someone else. My concern is too basic for the therapist to miss a beat or drop the ball at all. I shouldn't have to explain much to him in this regard, he ought to understand immediately. A skilled therapist takes it as normal that a client is afraid of judgement. Nothing justifies being treated like my feelings don't matter.
As a therapist, I often refer to Rock Creek Therapy. I know Charlotte to be an incredible therapist and wonderful manager who carefully hires and supports the therapists who work at RCT. I hear positive feedback about the skill and kindness of RCT's therapists. Rock Creek Therapy is a great resource.
As a therapist myself, Rock Creek Therapy is a top referral source for me. Charlotte is incredibly responsive, and she and all the therapists there are an intelligent, compassionate, warm, responsible, highly dedicated crew. Over the years I've been able to see how deeply they care about providing the highest quality services.
I am a therapist myself and rock creek therapy is my number one referral. I refer to them because I know they are caring, experienced and passionate professionals. Charlotte is an highly skilled therapist and deeply cares for her clients.
