he obviously has a lot of life/career experience and wisdom but my experience was just fine... i met with him over two sessions and it was pretty clear he had not read my resume and his main advice to me was to use my network and get coffees with about 5 people. I ended up finding a new job a fair bit later but the advice to just use my network seemed pointless. I was looking for advice on a possible career change. He had me draft a letter to trusted contacts on how to find next steps in a career... pretty useless exercise and one that I never sent. Seems to think one size fits all instead of guiding clients one on one. In my experience, I was better off on my own...
Jim is an exceptional career coach. He is incredibly resourceful and helped guide me in the right direction for my career. I truly appreciate his wisdom and support. I highly recommend Jim to anyone seeking career guidance!
I had the privilege of receiving career consulting from Jim before my big move to California, and it's no exaggeration to say that his guidance was a turning point in my professional journey. His approach is both thoughtful and insightful. Thanks to him, I clearly understood what I wanted in my career and confidently worked towards it. Now, I run my own Content Marketing & Podcasting agency in Orange County. I've always dreamed of starting this company, and with Jim's help, I was able to take the necessary steps to make it happen.
Jim is a huge help and I highly recommend his services. He was a very positive impact in my life! Before I hired Jim, I had gone through many first round and a few second-round interviews, but I was missing that crucial piece that got me to the final round. After I met Jim, he coached me how to apply to a job, craft a resume that set you apart from other job seekers, and helped me understand on how to sell myself in an interview. These skills made me a fantastic candidate for the job I was apply for, and that set me apart in a competitive field! Jim has a lot career experience, and he understands what employers are looking for. He offers a variety of helpful services. From his 1:1 resume workshops, teaching me how to tailor cover letter, to coaching me on how to sell myself in an interview. My life is much better after working with Jim, and I was able to get the job I really wanted. Contact Jim if you are looking to transition to your next role, find your dream job, or improve your interviewing skills.
Jim's career counseling expertise has had a demonstrable, positive impact in my professional and personal life. Most importantly, Jim has offered me usable tools that have improved the quality of my life, as well as given me a more meaningful career outlook. For example, Jim has helped me set professional boundaries and given me tools to navigate the C-suite in ways that actually make me happier at work on a day-to-day basis and have earned me professional accolades. During the year I've worked with Jim, I have grown so much as a person and a professional. As a result, my career has continued to flourish and I feel truly in control of my own professional growth. Interpersonally, my friends, family, and significant other have all seen positive changes that have led to more robust and meaningful relationships with each. Overall, I would say Jim has helped me to significantly improve my quality of life, given me the tools to be more introspective and less reactive, and has been an incredible coach as well as become my mentor - he really is a "Business Buddha" as well as a great counselor.
Jim has great ideas and resources that can help you find a job or move your career in a new direction. He knows a lot about making the right presentation on your résumé, in an interview, or when asking for a raise. His advice increased my earning power and led to a more fulfilling role on at least 2 occasions. Reaching out to him is a great investment, I can't recommend him enough
I am so incredibly grateful for Jim's guidance during a challenging career change. His insight, feedback, and support were essential to my success in landing a dream job. From helping me chart a new course and finding a new passion after burning out in a draining career, to coaching me through final interviews, he was with me every step of the way. I cannot recommend him enough!
I have been fortunate enough to work with Jim on clearly defining my career goals and creating a pragmatic plan towards achieving them. Jim provided uniquely tailored support, solution based strategies, and a collaborative approach towards improving my leadership skills. Jim’s insight and experience provided invaluable perspectives on my career challenges and aspirations; leading to well-constructed and actionable steps to achieve my goals. During my time working with Jim, I experienced growth in both my professional and personal life, leading to a promotion and expansion of my network. I highly recommend Jim, as he and his services are superb.
As one can expect, trying to make a career transition is a highly emotional and somewhat stressful experience as it requires a certain level of honesty, self-reflection and hard work. I reached out to a number of career coaches in the DC area when I began to contemplate a change but no one I spoke with had the quite the same intelligent, calm demeanor as Jim. From the first day we sat down in his DuPont office to my first day at my new job, Jim supported my growth, both professionally and personally, by providing me with thoughtful direction, insight and feedback. The process helped me better understand myself, my strengths and, most importantly, how I could integrate my experience and passions in a way that ultimately lead to the greatest and most pivotal role of my career. With Jim's help I moved to a different coast, landed my dream job in an emerging industry and, above all else, learned the tools and thought processes necessary to ensure that I am always well positioned for growth. Jim is truly an amazing person and working with him has proven to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have referred a number of friends to Jim over the course of time and, unsurprisingly, everyone views him similarly as I do: a consummate professional who truly cares about his clients.
I decided to meet with Jim when I was contemplating making a big career change. I found my meetings with him to be supportive, helpful and constructive. Throughout the process he challenged me and helped me see what I could not see before. I was lost and scared in my previous job and Jim helped me by walking me through the process of change. His advice was pragmatic and realistic, serving as a catalyst for attainable change. With Jim’s coaching, I identified my passions and talents and created a plan to open my own business, which I am currently successfully running and growing. Jim is a great coach and I highly recommend him.
