I had a similar experience as Mecca with Dr. Scott- awkward, disappointing, and unsupportive. My experience (2 years) with this Dr. Scott has been disappointing and frustrating. As someone navigating ADHD, I was seeking a supportive, responsive, and empathetic partnership—especially when it came to documentation and follow-through for workplace accommodations. Unfortunately, I encountered repeated delays, lack of responsiveness, errors in documents, and minimal support and accountability, which added stress to an already challenging process. Communication was inconsistent, and when I followed up for clarification or help, I often felt dismissed rather than understood. I want to be clear that I never asked for findings to be changed—only for appropriate documentation based on existing information. That distinction was repeatedly ignored. I had hoped to work with someone who would be a collaborator in my care. Instead, I often felt alone in advocating for myself. I would not recommend this provider to others seeking thoughtful or timely support for managing ADHD.
Dr. Scott is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I went to her for an assessment, and she was able to help me learn how to understand myself better so I can take better care of myself and advocate for my needs.
Dr. Scott is a patient listener and does a great job of deciphering emotions for her patients. She offers concrete tools and coping strategies that help you navigate your every day life.
When I began looking for a therapist I had almost given up my search until I came across Dr. Scott. She helped me learn how to truly dive deep into myself and learn how to really be able to acknowledge my feelings and not run from them. That was one of my biggest challenges for me. She was very good at helping me learn the tools I needed for myself in order to learn how to manage my depression and anxiety as well as recognizing my triggers. I would definitely recommend her she truly helped me transform myself. I’m glad I hadn’t given up my search for a therapist because I wouldn’t have made the progress that I’ve made and I’m a much happier person for it.
I am grateful to have met Dr. Scott. I was looking for an excellent therapist who was skilled with Autism and related conditions (anxiety, depression) I received my diagnosis of Autism and ADHD from Dr. Scott. She is empathetic and caring. She is also an excellent communicator. I am glad I met her and have no problem recommending her services.
Had a great experience working with Dr. Scott. She was very attentive, kind and I made significant progress under her care.
Edit: I have a new therapist now and I’m realizing how different the experience should have been. I’m really hesitant to write this and went back and forth for a long time. I finally decided after doing a lot of research and hearing about others’ experiences with therapy. For context, I saw Dr. Scott a few times in 2019. She was nice and prompt. I was pretty shy in the beginning and didn’t say much. She made it clear that it’s my responsibility to drive the conversation. As I began to open up and talk more, I felt like she wasn’t listening. I even saw her on her phone once. I stopped talking when I noticed. She looked up from her phone and tried to connect my story about an annoying colleague in that moment to some traumatic event from my past but it was very clear she wasn’t listening. I’m okay with people making mistakes but she didn’t own up to it and she stared at me for a VERY long time after I politely told her I didn’t agree with the connection she was attempting to make. I felt like she was gaslighting me so I ended it after that session. Nothing else major happened, hence the three stars. It could have just been a long day for her or a misunderstanding. Though that particular situation felt very tense and neither of us attempted to resolve it.
