I completed Dr. Ana Sierra's Immigration Evaluation Training earlier this year and I may say she is the expect. Dr. Sierra is well versed in immigration issues and specifically completing evaluations very thoroughly. Dr. Sierra offered examples, PowerPoints and suggestions in connecting with attorneys and other providers. Dr. Sierra is warm and compassionate about her work and providing the best quality for clients. I would highly recommend her for her services if you are coming in as someone needing an evaluation done or if you are needing training to serve this population.
I had the privilege of attending the Traumatic Stress Management: Self-Care and Social Support workshop hosted by Ana Sierra Counseling, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Dr. Ana Sierra is exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate, and clearly highly qualified in the field of psychology and trauma-informed care. Her ability to translate complex clinical concepts into practical, culturally responsive tools for the community truly sets her apart. What stood out most was Dr. Sierra’s genuine commitment to giving back to the community, especially to Latinx leaders and families. Offering this workshop free of charge speaks volumes about her dedication to increasing access to mental health education, empowering others through self-care, and fostering representation within the mental health profession. The event was thoughtfully organized, informative, and deeply impactful—addressing traumatic stress while also uplifting attendees through connection, support, and hope. Ana Sierra Counseling is doing meaningful, heart-centered work, and I highly recommend Dr. Sierra to anyone seeking a therapist, educator, or community partner who leads with both expertise and compassion. Thank you, Dr. Sierra, for creating spaces that heal, educate, and inspire.
I had the pleasure of taking a training on immigration evaluations that exceeded all my expectations. Dr. Ana was kind, patient, and incredibly thorough. She provided all the tools, guidance, and resources needed to start conducting evaluations right away. I left feeling prepared, confident, and far less nervous about stepping into this work. She also supported me with referrals and continues to send cases in my licensed states. Highly recommend!
I need every Latina in the greater DMV to get on this therapy journey, because the mental barriers I broke through, the chains that fell off… I don’t even have the words. I just wrapped up a long stretch of therapy with Ana Sierra Consejería, specifically with Suleika, who was my rock through one of the weirdest, most uncertain times in my life. This experience has done incredible things for my heart and mind. This whole process started as a Christmas gift from my sister. She purchased a set of sessions to cover a time we knew would be especially difficult for me - and thank God she did. From the very beginning, Suleika helped me set one short-term and one long-term goal for our work together (though these goals evolved as we went). As a Latina, I felt so deeply seen in the way Suleika approached our sessions. Her style was culturally-informed in the most thoughtful way: she helped me unpack decades-old battles rooted in marianismo, gently challenging harmful beliefs I’d carried without ever shaming my culture. In fact, she helped me discover tools within my culture - within my own upbringing - that I could use to navigate everything from work pressure to my fear of flying. And honestly? It was wild how much Suleika and I had in common. As we went deeper, she could often anticipate the limiting thought patterns I hadn’t even realized I needed to face. This wasn’t just therapy. Not enough stars to rate.
Amazing experience

Patient with my concerns and truly listens. Unbiased and straight forward.
Ana is an empathic and warm therapist who also knows how to set the boundaries.I was able to observe during a training session how empathic she was during her evaluation process while also being able to gather the data in a timely manner. Ana is generally responsive to clients and is willing to work with them to meet them where they are.
Contacted her more than a month ago. First she said she didn't accept my insurance even though it was listed on her website. I had to contact my insurance company to prove she was in network. Then she agreed to make an appointment for the following week but ended up scheduling us for 3 weeks later. A few days before the appointment, my boyfriend asked to change the appointment date and she sent a message through her company's server (a communication line we had never used before) and told me she can not talk to my boyfriend by law (that's fine) and said, I quote "I am going to go ahead and cancel the appointment". Unprofessional behavior at best. Vindictive at worst. See a different therapist.
