Janelle has been our family therapist for over 10 years. She has guided us through our toughest times and it is to her, to which we make one of our first phones calls when seeking advice. Janelle is an erudite, extremely proficient and constantly learning new skills to apply to her practice. Not only is Janelle cognizant of our changing needs, and empathetic of our situation, she is always willing to teach us what she knows. She challenges and encourages us, many time through our tears, to persevere. Not only is Janelle an invaluable therapist but a distinctive teacher within the community for the professional development of therapy students. 10 years ago, I was apprehensive to seek out a therapist for parenting help. My husband and I had adopted our son who had severe attachment disorders. I did not want a therapist who would ask me how I felt about my lack of sleep or my disappointment at the adoption process etc. I did not want a therapist to delve into the problems of my own childhood. I was nervous and exhausted. I needed practical parenting advice, something to work on to see regular progress. After going to Janelle a few times, she taught me techniques to become a parent to a child who did not know how to be held, did not know hunger or thirst pains and refused to make eye contact. She gave me step by step instructions on how to gain the trust of this little boy. Within a month, my husband, also joined, after realizing I was gaining knowledge, which is exactly what we needed. Janelle may never understand our gratitude for her as a therapist. I would highly recommend Janelle Althen and The PASS Center.

Several members of my family, including myself have seen Janelle for years - and she has helped us all with such a wide variety of issues. She is knowledgable, non-judgemental, offers "homework" options outside of sessions to continue working on what is discussed in therapy, and is all around a very genuine therapist and human being. Finding a new counselor can be intimidating, but you will not regret having the opportunity to work with this wonderful woman!

I've been incredibly fortunate to work with Eli Harwood through various seasons of my life. She is unquestionably the most skilled, compassionate, and gifted therapist I've ever worked with, and I am so appreciative for the care I have received through her practice. Eli has given me tools and frameworks to dig into the tough work and honor my process. Yet, most importantly, she has supported me with a kindness and gentle direction that has allowed me to grow and flourish in ways I didn't think possible.

Janelle has been a rock for our family over the past 10 plus years. My first experience with her was as a facilitator for a support group for mothers of internationally adopted children. Her skilled guidance of this group of anxious new mothers was invaluable. Since then, my husband and I have strengthened and enriched our marriage with Janelle's couples counseling and become better parents with her expert advice and guidance. Currently, she does one on one sessions with our teenage son, bringing my husband and I into the conversation as needed. In every situation, Janelle has a grounding and calming presence. I always feel better and my family always functions better after a session with Janelle.

My husband I started seeing Janelle Althen a couple years ago. She was recommended by a friend of ours. Her guidance and wisdom helped my husband and I navigate through some difficult times and really helped us work through things as a team. We are so grateful for her and her kind-loving spirit. Our marriage is stronger and our communication is so much better after the work we did with Janelle. She cares about her work and maintains a professional and ethical disposition. We are forever thankful to her!

Janelle is an extraordinary therapist. I have experience working with her in family/individual work with my son as well as a couple's counselor. In both cases, our work together was nothing short of life changing. Her expertise in attachment in its many manifestations as well as her application of experiential therapeutic techniques sets Janelle apart from other therapists in the efficacy of her work. She taught us skills that are now part of our daily life, and my relationships are stronger as a result. I am tremendously grateful for the positive impact that she's had on my life and my family and could not recommend her more highly.

Janelle Althen is a top notch therapist and I considered myself hitting the jackpot when she agreed to take us on as clients. She came highly recommended by the center that diagnosed our son. We were at a loss on how to handle our son who was adopted and suffered trauma at birth and is considered special needs. When I read about Janelle and Pass Center and saw that she specializes in all of these things, I heard angels sing! Lol! We have been seeing Janelle for close to 4 years now, I believe, and our son and marriage are both growing, healthy and stable! In fact, we have stopped seeing her for awhile because we are doing so good. But, know that we WILL be back when we have something that we can't figure out ourselves. AND, I am looking forward to it! Janelle is so easy going, kind, understanding and so easy to talk to. I truly believe she helped save our marriage and got us on the right track with our son. We are forever grateful for her coming into our lives!

We have seen a couple of therapists at PASS Center. We have loved the flexibility in allowing our kids to work with someone they would want to. With that said, Janelle Althen has been a God send for our family. She has been our lifeboat for working through adoption and foster care needs, marriage, family, individual help, job, and everything in between. Our family has been working on and off with Janelle for 10 years. I've referred countless adoptive families to her. And I am pursuing a degree as a social worker because of her influence. I want to help people the way she does! If you are looking for a therapist who truly cares about you....she is the real deal.

Janelle has been amazing. Her marital therapy has been at a whole different level of competence, compassion, empathy, and professionalism. We found out about Janelle from another couple who she has helped tremendously. She has been doing the same for us and our marriage is in a healthier place because of the work that we have done with Janelle. Janelle cares deeply about her work and it's obvious in her commitment to the work that she does with us. Even though all of the work isn't easy, my wife and I look forward to each session. Thank you, Janelle.
