Dr. Burstein is an amazing psychiatrist that we collaborate with often. We highly recommend him!
We waited a while to see Dr. Burstein, and it was well worth it. We have seen several therapists, and some of them rushed to prescribe medication to seek magical instant recovery (are there any magical pills?) while neglecting the long-term negative impact of the medication to a child's growing brain. Not Dr. Burstein. He is methodical, comprehensive, careful, and patient. He noticed his patient's progress and was willing to allow the patient to grow and improve without the effect of medication. We were impressed.
Disappointing. We waited months to see him and it was not worth it. I would not recommend.
I am still unsure how a physician can not participate in any hearth care insurance coverage.
Called him 3 if not 4 times and left messages but never heard back. I understand if a doctor is not taking on new patients but to not have the decency to call someone back and let them know is unacceptable especially when the hardest part is knowing you need help and being willing to seek it.
Knowledgeable, compassionate, accommodating, informative, responsive and goes above and beyond the call of duty. Someone else left a scathing review and besides that individual’s personal experience in the office, none of the concerns listed were accurate in any of my years of being one of his patients. His office location is perfectly safe, his focus and attention for me as a patient were exceedingly attentive. If you’re willing to be an active part of your treatment most psychiatrists pshychiatry will be more effective. So, no matter who you seek for treatment, be willing to work with your provider. Individually, Dr. Burstein worked with me exceptionally well and it was effective in part because of his demeanor and expertise and also because I was willing to work with him. Treatment takes patient effort, too. Adam Burstein will do what is necessary to treat a patient effectively and aims to make sure no unnecessary medications are prescribed. Less can be more but when meds are needed he knows what to prescribe and how much. He genuinely wants to see his patients happy and effective people and helps with genuine expertise.
Dr. Burstein is an amazing doctor. He spends his time, is patient, has your back, and very smart. I trust him with my family. Thank you!
I have been in and out of therapy since age 11 or 12. (I’m 51 now). I’ve seen psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, et al. Dr. Burstein is far and away the best I’ve worked with in these four decades. In early 2016 I made the hard decision to leave my long-term home of Denver, to be closer to my family in another state. One of the most daunting factors for me to consider when deciding to move was giving up my work with Dr. Burstein so soon after getting started. I felt and still feel that he really forced me to really *work* on my issues, frustrations and mental & psychological roadblocks as no other doctor or therapist ever had before. Dr. Burstein didn’t hold back on pushing me to go through the really, really uncomfortable stuff, and he refused to accept “I don’t know why...” as answer to the important questions he posed to me. He is warm, kind, understanding and compassionate while maintaining the ability to call me on my cop-outs (which is what I need way more of in my life). There’s absolutely nothing wrong with talk therapy. It can be invaluable in helping people unload pain, and even aid in self-realizations. In my case, however, I never realized the difference — I desperately needed cognitive behavioral therapy to make any progress in dealing with the traumas I encountered in my childhood and adolescence, and the resulting lifetime of clinical depression and suicidal ideations and attempts. I felt, and continue to feel a significant loss at not being able to continue my work with Dr. Burstein, but I will be forever grateful to him for the progress we did make, as well as for the fact that I now know exactly what to seek out in my future therapy and in a psychiatrist. I simply cannot recommend Dr. Burstein highly enough. He is truly special, and I’m not certain that I’d be here today were it not for him.
Dr Adam Burstein is fabulous. I have been seeing him over the last few years and he has helped me with my ADHD. So many Dr's out there just want to label and throw meds at you. He is far from one of those generic dr's. I alway leave feeling like I have been heard. I am on what I need to be on that helps me stay focused.
