From the first conversation I had with Amy I knew she would be helpful to me as I navigated some tricky waters in my career. Throughout our journey together she helped me identify a tool kit to help me grow as a person and work through my fears of finding a new career. I treasure our time together and am so appreciative of her support.
I found Amy through an online search for a career coach. The questions she posed on her website, her approach, and her focus on women resonated with me and, although unsure and a bit nervous about the whole coaching thing at first, I was rarin’ to go after our introductory call! After careful consideration of the goals of our relationship (which I really appreciated), the hard and fun work began. Amy always seemed to know exactly when to listen, when to nudge and when to call me out on unhelpful stories I was telling about myself. Amy often said she was “in the boat” with me and I felt it every step of the way, even now, after the coaching has ended. I always looked forward to our conversations, was energized afterward and I often refer to them as I navigate my way. I finally just made a necessary, but major and scary change that I’m not sure I would have made without Amy’s steady guidance and patient support. To be sure, I wouldn’t be as focused, confident and excited as I am if I were paddling alone!
Amy came into my life at the absolute perfect time. I met her by chance - I was asked to participate in a Women's Leadership initiative for a few hours as a guest attendee, and we met in the lunch line. I felt an instant connection. What I needed most from Amy she sensed right away - to feel driven by a purpose, to reignite my passion for my work, and to realize how valued my skills are. The first thing Amy helped me to realize were my values and whether I was putting my time and energy against the things that mattered most to me. It was this exercise that made me re-evaluate my life and my self-worth. Amy taught me how to recognize when my thoughts are taking me down a dark path and how to bring myself back out. She kept me honest, told me things I needed to hear but perhaps didn't want to hear, and most importantly was a sounding board for me when I just needed an empathetic ear. Frankly, Amy was a godsend. She helped me find the courage I needed to make a change in my life - I have confidence again and have found the light that had dimmed inside of me.
I reached out to Amy after a strong recommendation from my sister and I absolutely loved working with her. She is intelligent, authentic and has a great sense of humor. Not only was she an excellent coach, she was an amazing teacher. I worked with Amy for 9 months and learned techniques and skills that will serve me for life. I also found a new job, moved to a new city, developed a new hobby, and even made new friends. Amy was the key: asking the right questions, ready to pivot, providing new insight, resources, skills, reading material, anecdotes, and more. Thank you Amy!!! I am grateful to have been able to work with you. It has been a fun, surprising, solid and winning experience for me and I hope other women are lucky enough to have their own life-enriching experience. -Laura T.
I cannot say enough great things about Amy Van Court! She helped me transition out of a difficult work situation and develop something that I absolutely love. She guided my introverted self through endless networking (which I now happily do!); she helped me start my own business; we brainstormed effective ways to find and retain clients; and she still provides guidance when I need a little boost. She really helped me increase my confidence and get out of my shell. There is no way I would have a successful business without Amy.
My husband encouraged me to contact Amy for career counseling and I admit I was hesitant. It is a big investment and I wasn’t sure how a career coach could help me. My experience with Amy has changed my life! Working with Amy taught me the skills to live the life I’ve always known to be within reach. She helped me identify my strengths and how to deal with discouraging negative, thoughts. I am a stronger and more confident person because of her. I continue to grow and use my new skills daily. UPDATE: I have recently received some news that has shattered my world. Even though it has nothing to do with my career, I find myself thinking back to the time I worked with Amy. I am using what she taught me to get through this difficult time in my life. If you can afford it, I highly recommend hiring Amy, she will help change your life for the better. Thank you Amy! The tools I’ve gained through my experience not only helped my career but also my personal life. I highly recommend her to anyone who longs for a positive change!
My experience working with Amy was nothing short of life-changing. Her guidance and ability to ask just the right question at just the right time, helped me move my life in a better direction. She’s supportive but knows when to give that little push we all need to better ourselves. I’m so much happier now! I know, absolutely, that I wouldn’t have been able to get to this point without her.
Amy is 10 out of 5 stars!!! I worked with Amy about 3 years ago. I currently think about her almost daily. The work Amy did with me was positively life altering. Not only my career has soared since then, but I have become a better person in general. I was skeptical at the beginning and was frustrated that I didn't get results in the first couple of sections. Amy worked patiently with me and taught me to trust the process - a lesson that still serves me. She taught me to recognize the voice in my head holding me back (my "gremlin"), and also to listen to my joyful inner voice pushing me forward. Because of the work I did with Amy, I've become more grateful, more present, aware, patient and I learned to forgive myself and be kinder towards myself, which resulted in me being kinder to others as well. I could not recommend Amy more. She is kind, patient and simply gifted at what she does.
Where to begin! I cannot say enough great things about working with Amy. She easily helped me wade through the "noise" to bring me to a place of awareness and clarity on what path I wanted to be on in my career. I have since used what I have learned and am able to be more mindful day to day knowing that path to success. The amazing twists, turns, and discoveries that come when working with Amy are challenging, exciting, and eye opening. Knowing I have someone as inspiring, encouraging, supportive, and helpful as Amy that I can continue to connect with when I need is such a blessing. I am so grateful I found Amy as my coach!
Amy's guidance could not have been more helpful in leading me realize the career changes that I needed to make. Working with Amy taught me how to listen to my true self - a valuable skill that I've implemented in my personal life as well. With Amy's coaching, I found myself leaving an unfulfilling legal practice for a breath of fresh air -- which turned into a new opportunity to practice law in an area that I truly enjoy and with colleagues that could be described as my "tribe." I went from being discouraged and lost to landing a fantastic job that is a great fit for me. Amy is a kind, respectful and dedicated ally to have on your side. I am grateful that Amy was recommended to me, and I cannot recommend her services enough!
