Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Absolutely the most amazing place for me too start my awesome journey of Mental Health! Dr.B, Debra, Emily , Koby, Karthic, RN Henry, Joanna, my Therapist Elexis, Jaimie, Larry, Le,Lexis, and the rest of the entire staff! So very Greatful! All the very best,
THIS IS FOR THE WALNUT CREEK FACILITY WHICH DOESN’T ALLOW REVIEWS Worst facility I’ve ever dealt with. The intake coordinator, Stacia, misled my daughter into entering this facility full knowing that they did not treat her mental health diagnosis. Our neighbor had been shot and killed a few days before and it completely pushed my daughter over the edge. She spent 6 days in the facility without air conditioning (it was 90 degrees outside) and she lost 5 lbs because she doesn’t eat dairy or gluten. Stacia also promised they could accommodate her diet. NO MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS ON SITE. NO INDIVIDUAL THERAPY. GROUP THERAPY WAS TED TALKS ADMINISTERED BY UNQUALIFIED STAFF. The facility refuses to refund my $1,125 copay even tho they did NOT PROVIDE SERVICES. Where else can you go and have to pay for services not rendered. DO NOT EXPECT TO GET HELP HERE. THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY AND BILL KAISER. And as for Stacia, shame on you.
This was the worst place I went to. February 16 my dog died and I was grieving so much I checked into the ER at Kaiser. I was taken to Langley porter and taught art to the patients. I also learned so much. Five stars to LP. After that I went to this place where they couldn't wait to take my money. After 1 day they wanted me to leave so they sent me to Kaiser San Leandro. I didn't know I was getting kicked out and they sent everything to Kaiser except my meds. They took many hours to bring me my meds. Mmmmm. If I would have known I was getting kicked out and put back into kaiser my physician would have put me elsewhere. I don't know if they knew. I am an artist and I taught drawing there to one gentleman. The ultimate nightmare!!!!! I wonder if they will give me my money back or I will fight to get it back, Ms. Olga. I want 100. Refund. I fear she was very cruel. I would say never to go to a place where Olga is running it. What a nightmare.
The In my opinion the role of this facility and its personnel is utterly perplexing to me. It seems to function merely as a revolving door, allowing patients to cycle in and out while continuously financing the lavish lifestyles of the staff. Today marks my friend's third or fourth visit to this establishment, and I find myself compelled to express my frustration to the staff when they reach out: “When you discharge him this time, could you please ensure that he receives genuine help instead of just being cast back onto the streets? Perhaps you could provide him with a guide on how to successfully end his life, so we can avoid this endless cycle, which only serves to make another payment on the luxury vehicle parked outside your doors.” The staff has the opportunity to extend my friend's stay and genuinely pursue effective treatment, yet they choose not to. Instead, once his allotted time is up, they release him back into the world, waiting for his inevitable return and the subsequent influx of insurance funds.purpose of this
The staff are very friendly and caring. They’re here to help us through the toughest times of our lives. Serenity, Marvel, Henry, Andy, Emily, Kevin are just a few amazing people who makes this place feel like home. These other reviews do not justify this place. I will continue to come back to this location if I’m in need of help with my mental health. I feel like I’m growing and learning more about myself each day I am here. We do group activities and group therapy everyday. It’s something that has help me speak up and grow as a person. I have nothing but love for all the people I’ve worked with and the housemates that help one another and pass no judgement. The San Jose location is amazing! I highly recommend this place!
First, I have been here twice, once in 2019 and once now, 2023. The program deserved a five star review then and has only improved since then! Second... Please under that any psychiatric facility will have non representative bad reviews, due to people being by definition in a mental health crisis at admission. Now... National gets crisis residential better than any other agency, public or private. The facility is luxurious, relaxing, and homey... The groups are often facilitated by licensed psychotherapists, unlike at other facilities, and the content of them is innovative, supportive and facilitates exchanges of coping skills between clients, and collaboration amongst clients to solve problems. You get to see a licensed therapist in private, optionally, twice a week. The food is catered and delicious, and they always have a fully stocked fridge and pantry with beverages, snacks and leftovers. The staff are adults who treat everyone with dignity and respect, they treat us like adults. Other facilities tend to infantalize, treat everyone like they're five years old or have severe intellectual disability. Free, unlimited Wi-Fi and you're able to bring and use your phone and laptop, unlike at other facilities... If you need crisis residential services, please give National a call. They take Kaiser, so if you are coming from home you may need to educate your Kaiser team as many Kaiser clinicians are erroneously under the impression that National is only for people stepping down from psychiatric hospitalization. This is not so. Kaiser clinicians can refer from outpatient as well! They take many different kinds of insurance and private pay, check the website out for more details. Thank you, National, for always being there for me when it's just too much to handle at home... I'm a better, more well rounded human being for being at your facilities in rough patches.
Re: their Manteca location I'm reporting them to the DOH this week--they have so many staff there doing nothing. 3 people sit in the office checking emails all day instead of helping patients actually plan out what they're going to do. They enforce double standards mandating everyone attend group while their facilitators either cancel last minute or just don't have group at all. The only people I respected there were Cedric, Brittany, Drea, and Leilana. The rest of them would benefit from training. Elizabeth, their director, was good about getting me there and that was the beginning and end of her job. The doctor wouldn't discharge me with more than a week's worth of my ADHD medication. It's ridiculous.
This review pertains to the Walnut Creek location. In November 2022, their website states that they allow visitors 7 days per week, 11:30-1:00pm and 6:30-8:00pm. Upon arriving, though, I learned that patients can have visitors only once per week "due to Covid." I left. I decided to try again, hoping that I could settle in to the Draconian visiting hours. In a group, I said that I thought their visiting hours were stupid and I wanted to talk to the CEO, who was supposed to be available the next day. Big mistake. Management said that I can't say that in group. They reiterated that the restriction was "due to Covid." Meanwhile, Stacia, an intake coordinator there, who was explaining this to me, was sick and unvaccinated. She stated that she "Wasn't feeling good and had congestion from her son." She mentioned not being vaccinated and stated she was tested weekly. I asked if she had tested that day. She had not. They made me sit under a gazebo to shelter from the rain while it was 52° outside for 15 minutes while they did my rapid Covid test. I was freezing. I am quadruple vaccinated and they required a test done by Kaiser 72 hours prior to coming. Meanwhile, they have an unvaccinated manager/intake person saying they don't feel well and are congested AND unvaccinated. Hypocrites! Do not go to this hypocritical, useless facility.
This business is located next to houses and a school. They continually have employees including the manager using permit only resident parking despite having their own parking. We have tried reaching out to the staff to ask them to stop doing this. As well there is a constant stream of toxic cigarette smoke flowing all day long from the many rehab patients they have in their huge center. Some times they have patients who are screaming, attempt to kill themselves. We see ambulances about once a month. They should not be in a neighborhood with kids, and only an alley away from an elementary school. They should never have been permitted to operate there
AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!! AVOID!!!! First, a SERIOUS safety issue! Staff are supposed to check on patients every hour. At National it as closer to every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This place is a complete joke!! There was not one positive experience while I was there nor after I left. The seldom held scheduled groups were mostly useless if not completely nonexistent. On the weekends it was even worse. The staff does nothing but pacify it’s clients without ANY thought of follow up or following through. This was experienced time and time again. Social distancing is a also joke. They say they try to keep residents 6 ft apart but then bring everybody into the same room at the same time at least once every day. Also, Although there are a lot of cameras, nobody ever watches them. Saw young adults holding hands over and over. If that wasn’t bad enough. A week after I left I found out that they were holding a Rx that wasn’t given to me upon my discharge!!! They made absolutely no attempt to fix the problem and try to get me the Rx.
